Hello! I'm looking for ideas and any sugguestions. I have a 1.5 year old min pin. He is on the larger size 17lbs, and about 12inchs (height- paw to chin). He's a beautiful pup. I'm looking for a friend for Jack, and I have no idea what kind of breeds go well together. I'm looking for something around 16-25lbs. Any ideas would be great! Thanks

Just about any breed goes with any other breed.
It's best to choose one that suits you instead. Some suggestions of breeds you might like are... Rat Terrier Jack Russel Terriers (Parson Russel Terrier) Dachshund Chihuahua (Fantastic wonderful dogs...my personal favourite from this list) Fox Terrier Papillon Staffordshire Bull Terrier Whippet Italian greyhound Pug Poodle Yorkshire Terrier Australian Silky Terrier (great dogs!) Manchester Terrier English Toy terrier (Both the MT and the ETT look similar to the Min Pin) Corgi (either Cardigan or Pembroke) Chinese Crested Dog Anyway...those are some breeds to get you started thinking. Please think about checking out a shelter or rescue. You can take Jake along with you when you narrow down your selection there to see who he gets along with. But if you get a pup...always remember, reputable breeders are the only way to go. Cass. |

I agree with the shelter suggestion! There are lots of small dogs in shelters. Thats where I got my Gracie (24 pounds). They even let me bring my other dog in to meet her before she came home. One more breed I would suggest is a Boston terrier. I have one and they are great little dogs. Of course there is an endless list of breeds/mixes you could go with.

A Westie
Dogs? Cats? Every situation is unique. Westies can get along with other animals under the right circumstances. Dominant, male Westies often have difficulty getting along with other unaltered male dogs. |
