So happy!

So, yesterday (Saturday) was adoption day. Buddy was adopted almost immediately. My mom and I were there not even 5 minutes and I had a young couple approach me and asked if he was available. They thought about it for a good while and finally decided they'd take him.

Mr T and Jersey were also adopted, and they won't together! We are so happy... it was bitter-sweet. I cried like a baby when the moment came. I was soo so happy, but at the same time it broke my heart cause I get so attached to kittens. And those guys I raised from a tiny baby... I'm even getting teary eyed right now talking about it. I miss those little buggers... I hope they do well. I have no doubt they will. They're the only cats in the house, and they said they are eventually going to get a dog, but are going to wait until Mr. T and Jersey are old enough to handle a puppy.

Anyways, we got 4 new foster kittens that I'm going to start a thread on in the rescue section with some pics.

That is wonderful news! I bet adoption days are the hardest thing about fostering! You are a strong person!

I am happy that they got adopted. I can't imagine how hard it is to raise something for a while and then have to have it adopted. God bless you for doing such a wonderful thing.

Yeah, it must be really hard to see the fosters leave for their new homes, as I imagine you'd get quite attached to them. I think that would be the hardest part of fostering... but it is so bittersweet.

Thanks everyone. I really am very happy. Cats for some reason are my soft spot when it comes to getting attached to an animal. I don't know what it is.

As far as I know they are all doing very well.

Because when a cat shows affection towards you you know you've earned it. Dogs will give affection to whoever has a cookie in their hand. Or, at least, that is why I feel a sense of accomplishment when I get a cat to like me. LOL

I just thought I'd draw some attention to this happy ending too.
Tabby Tom
Tom was rescued after he survived a vicious attack by a coyote. gave him reconstructive surgery (a kitty chin-tuck!) and treated his minor wounds and infections. While healing, realized that although Tom had had a tough life and looked like a real alley cat, he was a very sweet and loving soul, overjoyed to have warmth, shelter, and food. He was so good-natured that he even "mothered" foster kittens living with him, and would even let them "nurse"! After many months of being shown at adoptions, were saddened at how many people overlooked him. One day, a young woman fell in love with Tom and saw him for the angel that he is, and he has been her companion ever since. She calls him Angel Tom!

You've got a good point there lol All of the cats I've ever had are always so friendly (Tags though is quite the witch, but she still cries for me when it's thundering lol). Everyone talks about how they don't like cats cause they have attitudes and everything. I look at them and invite them to meet my cats cause they're nowhere close to being nasty!

I have two cats, and they have two totally different personalities. One is relaxed and loves to play (he will even play fetch), the other thinks she is the queen and whines to get your attention (mainly to be fed), she won't let you touch her unless she rubs up against you or your hand is just resting there.
