Pug Mom

Meet Raisin
Last week, a couple in Boise, Idaho contacted me. They had gotten a young pug, then discovered their youngest son was VERY allergic to dogs. They battled this for months, trying to make it work, in and out of doctors. Things just did not work out in the end, and they were forced to rehome Raisin. So I drove up on Saturday and met them, and their pug.
Raisin will turn one year on April 30th. He is the picture of excellent health. He's a lovely fawn pug, he's utd on shots, neutered, microchipped, even came with akc papers (i may register him, I'd love to do agility, and would like to keep that open as an option), and completed his obediance classes a month ago. His owners did their very best for him, they spared no expense. He came with a variety of goodies. It was so hard to drive up there, meet these people, see how much they loved this little dog, and then to leave with him. But we keep in touch, they get updates and pictures, and they say it makes it easier. So here's Raisin! ![]() ![]() In this photo, he got that toy on his head like a helmet, and kept attacking other toys.. I laughed til I cried. ![]() Chaos! Winston on the left, Raisin on the right, Oscar in the background: ![]() One more: Winston chewing on Raisins cheek. Those two play, and play... and play! ![]() He's fitting in very well. He had zero troubles adjusting. He did great in the car. When I went up there, I brought my black Bentley, and he was fascinated with Bentley. He was in AWE. Aside from his litter mates, he'd never met another pug, and I guess his only playmate was someone's dachshund he'd play with, once in awhile. On the first part of the trip, Bentley curled up and went to sleep and Raisin sat there and stared at him like "Wow!". ![]() |

hes super cute
one thing - maybe consider ILP'ing him? i dont know his breeders, but if they didnt take him back, etc, i wouldnt register him and give them any credit for his accomplishments in the ring, etc. you can pick the name, you can even list his parents, but ILPing him indicates that he is a rescue. |

A-w-w....he is just adorable. His previous owners really must have been good to him...that he's so well adjusted and not worried about anything. Plus you are the perfect new home for him. He took one look at your other Pugs and must have thought this was going to be the coolest thing. Congrats on your new addition. I have to laugh at your.....

ILP is another way to register with AKC. With an ILP # -v- an AKC # the other thing you can't compete in is conformation. I didn't send Chloe's AKC papers in when I got her and now 4 yrs later I decided I wanted to compete in obedience with her. So I went to the AKC website & downloaded the ILP application form, sent it together with the check and the 2 pictures they required and I got an ILP # for her. The only other requirement is that they be neutered/spayed and since Raisin is you should be all set to go.
![]() They are all adorable & it is great that he fit in so smoothly! ![]() |
