I should stop going to Petfinder. I'm going to wind up getting another dog if I go to that site again.

I found a Rough Collie in New Jersey that is so cute and reminds of Kenya a little.

Oh those sort of sites are dangerous, aren't they? I always feel like adopting ALL the dogs I see. Mack is gorgeous, he has such a gentle look in his eyes. So are you seriously thinking about adopting another dog, or is searching on petfinder a hobby? Hehe I am addicted to looking at pound and shelter websites.

Doglover - I feel the same way when I browse petfinder!
There is no way we can have anymore permanent residents (dog wise) though!

Luna, wow he's GORGEOUS! Looks like he has some boxer in him (with how slender he looks)! Beautiful!

Same here, I browse Petfinder all of the time, and I always want to adopt all those poor homeless pets. Especially when I see Great Danes in shelters, that's very sad for me because they are such family oriented dogs. I always feel terrible when I see them in shelters. I'm also addicted to looking at shelter websites. The couple times that there have been Great Danes in our local shelter, i've adopted them, and fostered them until I was able to find them loving new homes. It's always soooo sad to see all the poor homeless pets in the shelters, though. If I could, I would adopt every single shelter animal lol.

I go to petfinder often. I look for Australian Shepherds and Brittanies a lot. lol

Swiftwind & Lunachick - I am thinking about adopting another dog. I might end up waiting a few years to adopt one. The collie is too far away for me. Shelter do not seem to have Rough Collies very often.

After I move out and am financally stable, I want to adopt another dog as well...which, when I think about it, may only be in a year or two.

I browse petinder all of the time...probably shouldn't though. lol

She's been at this nokill shelter for eight months now. Her pups have been adopted, but not her. This shelter still has dogs they've had since '98, so I don't think her chances of adoption are good. If she's still there when I'm ready for a new dog (sad to think of her being there that long, though) I'm definitally going to check her out.

Good luck with your search Dave! Ritz if you want a Labby you will have no problem finding one through rescue/shelters. It seems like every other dog at my local shelter is a lab.

Wow I'm glad I'm not the only crazy dog person that checks out petfinder daily.

If I had a bigger house & yard I'd probably have 6 or more dogs. I always feel so bad when I read some of the stories about the dogs. I just can't understand how someone can just drop off a family member.

There is a beautiful cocker spaniel in Windsor named Paddington who is 4 years old. He looks like such a little angel

I wish I could take him

Oh, I know. But I'm going to be weird with the next Lab I get...I want a certain "type" to it, as well as it being black. Granted, that will probably all fly out the window when the right dog comes along, but that is what I'm looking for.
Although if I was in the market to get a dog now, there was a handsome yellow Labby boy that came into work to be nuetered and I gave him a bath because he stank. He was from the shelter and is still looking for his home. Someone had taken the time to teach him to sit when approached by a person, which he did with enthusiasm, and it just saddened me to see him without a home. He was a darling.
