Good luck with it all, I hope Lucky's surgery goes well and smoothly!! I'll definitely be thinking of you guys. It sounds like he'll be going through a lot, but at least it'll all be worth it.

He went in to surgery around 2pm and I still havent heard anything

okay I just got off the phone with the surgeon. He told me that they just finished with Lucky. It was an intense surgery and they had to get a team in for ultra sound stuff during the procedure. They didn't find anything in him. He said it was a lot of nasty puss stuff. They followed the track and cleaned it out completely and packed it with some stuff that will promote healing and prevent infection form happening again. I feel very good and the surgeon sounded very upbeat about everything. He said Lucky did really good. Gosh he was in surgery from 2:30 until about 7:30. Lucky is now in ICU with 24/7 watch and care. He told me they will call me every day and that no news is good news for evening times, but if anything changes they will call me no matter what time it is.
He said that if all goes as planned Lucky's wound will heal and this will be the end. He should be able to come home in 3-4 days. I cant wait. It still sucks he wont be here tomorrow for my Birthday and the girls know something is up. They seem to be acting a bit off since he's been gone. They will be so excited to see him again I'm sure as will I

I'm so glad things have gone so well for LUkcy so far, everything crossed it continues to go well for him and he's back home with you soon!

Well Happy Birthday to me...my baby ate canned food this morning and walked and peed normally. They said last night they had issues with his body temp going down but they gave him a heating pad and blankets and he normalized. They had to shave a large part of his hair and the incision is quite large she said. I was so happy to hear my baby is doing well and might be out of ICU tonight.

Sorry I'm a bit late, but I'm glad everything went well for Lucky! Hopefully this will definetly be the end of all of this!

He was salivating a lot and puking so they had to put him on some anti-nausea medicines. That stopped it and I was told he is feeling better and wagging his tail a bit. He is still in ICU. She said the upset tummy could be from the pain medicines or the surgery (seeing as how they had to move his insides around) or the combo. They are still waiting for the lab results on the puss stuff they got out of him during surgery. They are doing another blood test today to make sure all is well. They are going to try water and food again tomorrow and see how it goes. As soon as he keeps it down and will take a pill they are going to get him off the IV and out of ICU. Then soon after that I can take him home, but she said she didn't know when that would be. So he might have to be there over the weekend. I miss him so much it's crazy.

Got my call today and Kara (the student vet watching after him) told me he ate and was back to his self again. She thinks that tonight they can move him out of ICU. They are wanting to get him off the IV and on oral meds tonight as far as I understand. Then maybe after this weekend I can come get him and take my man home!!! She is suppose to call me if they are able to move him out of ICU tonight.
