When is the best time to walk a Dog in the Summer Time?
What time of the day would be the best time for me to take my Wheaten-poo for a Walk? In the mornings, or the Evenings. I've been taking Chico in the Mornings, because it's cooler, than. The tempature usually reaches 25 degrees where I live and it takes a while for it to cool down in the Evening. I don't want Chico to die of Over-heating, or a Heart Attack.

Morning is good because it is cooler, but an evening walk would get her more ready for a night's sleep. It all depends on how much time you have available at those times.
Dogs naturally have to go "potty" in the AM, after their night of sleep, and some exercise is a great way to get that going. I like walks at night for my guys because it gives them a chance to get some exercise and stretch their legs before they're crated for the evening. If you're worried about the heat, you can always carry water with you and drape a wet, cool towel around your pup for the walk. I sometimes tie them like bandanas around the neck, but others make them into a dog coat of sorts. Just keep some water with you in any event to splash on your pup, or for a quick drink, and keep your walks short so that you don't over do it. |

Early in the morning or later in the evening. I find it's usually a little cooler in the morning, and I feel safer in day light even though I've got 65-173 pounds of vicious beast protecting me

Deffiunately either really late at night (although I don't find it gets cool enough until around 10pm) or better yet, really early in the morning (6am is a perfect time)

I walk in the evening, but that's more for me, I don't like to burn in the sun. And at least where I am, you have to get up earlier than I am willing to to avoid intense sun
