I slept through the quake entirely, and totally didn't even know there was a warning ever issued. I know I'm a generally oblivious person, but geez... lol Glad it was cancelled, that's for sure!

Apparently, the quakes occurred around 90 miles off the coast from Eureka and like a 3 pt quake happened somewhere in central Ca. So, nope, So Cals and the majority of Nor Cals couldn't feel it.
It does raise a concern, though, because there is a major fault than rus right through San Jose. Though I don't live in San Jose, it is to my understanding that the fault runs near Oakland. ![]() |

'nother earthquake today- a 5.3, if I remember correctly. I was in the car, so I missed it entirely. GL- people here did feel it, and we're way down the coast! It's kinda scary. I'm just glad I keep missing them! Ha!
Kparx- There was a huge earthquake years ago, when I was pretty little. I can't remember the magnitude, but it was big. I would've slept through that one too, if someone hadn't come and got me. lol Earthquake, what earthquake?! ![]() One time we had any earthquake just big enough to shake things up a little- it was in the middle of the night. My parents came during it to check my sister and I were ok. When it finished, Missie ran into the hall and peed on the carpet, right in front of everyone. We laughed so hard! lol |

Hmm, that's odd. Did you feel the 5 pt quake or the ones yesterday? The news interviewed some waaaaay Nor Cal'ers and they said they couldn't feel it and didn't even realize it happened until the media covered it (which, by the way, was a couple hours late, and the warning had already been cancelled). Ah, the power (or lack of) journalism
Oh, and I think the fault runs through Hayward, which is around 20 minutes away. For some reason, I can't remember the name. It's like Santa Anez...? Edit: It's Santa Ynez! That's it ![]() Edit again: Ughh, that's not it. Santa Ynez is further down south. I'm confusing myself... |

I like to look at this map.. it's constantly changing, adding new quakes. The latest one I think was too far in the ocean to be seen on this map though.

GL- other people did, but I keep missing them for one reason or another (sleep, being in the car...). I'm glad, though, that I do!
Think Dad said there've been 6 altogether, in the last couple days. *shrug* seems like we've been a long time without them, and they're makin' up for lost time... |

You're right. A few Los Angeles Whippet people felt the 5.3 quake. I have to extend my sympathy to So Cal'ers. First, they had to deal with a monstrous amount of rain (and mudslides
), and now the quakes can actually be felt over there. Eek! |
