Alert - Stolen Bichon!
On Tuesday, June 6, 2005 at approximately 1030 hours, the above Bichon Frise named "Ryland" was stolen from a cargo building loading dock located at the San Francisco International Airport. Ryland was being sent from a kennel in the Sacramento area to Peking, China.

Ryland is white in color, weighs approximately 11lbs. and answers to his name. Ryland is a championship show dog and is valued at $15,000.00.

An unknown white or Hispanic male was seen walking away from the cargo building carrying a beige dog kennel which contained Ryland. The suspect was last seen getting into a white Toyota 4Runner and driving out of the parking lot at a high rate of speed.

A $3000.00 reward is being offered for information leading to the safe return of Ryland.

Suspect: 28-32 yrs.
5'2-5'3, 175-190lbs.
Black hair, clean shaven, wearing a tan collar short sleeve shirt and blue jeans.

Vehicle: Late 90's White Toyota 4Runner, unknown license plate

Thanks for the alert. You just never know where he may turn up. Do you think the people have any idea what they've stolen, meaning a champion worth that much vs a cute dog? Opportunists or planned theft? Lots of questions and such a sad situation, sigh.

I really don't understand some people. I hope he stole it to give it to someone as a pet...I'd hate to think it was going to be a breeding dog for a byb or puppymill. Or even worse, as bait for fighting dogs.

My guess is the person who did this hasn't a clue what they have and I can only hope that if he isn't returned the person at least treats him well.

Yes, contact the task force number listed as they will know what case your talking about, your local police may or may not have the information readily available and the task force would make contact with the local agency to assist.
