Question special doggy senses?

I was wondering what you all thought of this. I have a condition where i will pass out and most of the time i have no way of telling when its going to happen. Lately Maggy has been very attentive to me and about an hour ago i was cleaning and Maggy nuged me with her nose and kept nudgeing me until I sat on the couch ans she just sat in front of me with a sad look on her face. the next thing I remember is being slumed over on the couch and Maggy licking my nose. Shes insisted I sit or lay down a few ther times too.

Is it just a coincidence or does she know that Im going to pass out and thats why she does what she does??

She probably can sense it. I know they have dogs that can assist people who have seizures, etc. I can't imagine your condition would be so vastly different that it would be outside the scope of a dog who could detect seizures.

Actually my friend has a condition that she passes out a lot too (juvenile epilepsy so sometimes she even seizures) and her cairn terrier is VERY aware of what's going on and will alert her id an episode is coming on. I really feel that dogs can sense these thngs since there are some trained seizure-alert dogs and some that simply pick up on it

Wouldn't surprise me at all if your girl sensed it, I truely believe that dogs are more in tune with whats going on with our bodies as well as whats going on around us than we will ever be.

My girl Angel was placed with a family with three very happy and healthy children, the youngest is I think 6 now and Angel alerted to something being very wrong with the little one, she even went as far one night as to wake the parents and insist by pushing and pulling that they come see their daughter in the middle of the night. That night was the little girl's first seizure.

Since the first Angel has alerted the family to each and every seizure 20 minutes before it occurs and she was never trained to do this. My boy Ty alerted my family just minutes before my dad had a mild heart attack and still alerts whenever my dad experiences chest pains.

Whenever I am sick my dogs sense the difference and stay very close by.
I have more faith in them than most practitioners

It would not surprise me, there might be some change in your body before hand that is so minimal that you cannot notice it, but the dog's senses pick it up.

The body chemical changes when your going to have a seizure and dogs can smell this change. They know by instinct it isn't normal and that worries them to the point they let you know. Cancer has it's own distinct smell and they can pick up on that area as well. Pay attention to them when they "alert".

Oh, how heartwarming You say your heart races before the attack or during? If before, it would make sense how your dog can feel the onshot of an episode. For example, you know how dogs can pick up on our apprehension? They can smell it through our breath which is why many people take a mint or chew gum when they perform with their dogs, and they can sense it through the lead and touch. I would think that your dog can sense your heart beating faster just as she can sense you're nervous. It's truly a joy to live with these beautiful creatures.

Your right Gaddy! I never leave for a show without my gum! Dogs are amazing creatures and its too bad that humans don't have the same insights and extra senses!
