Kino will be fine.. Don't worry I know its hard not to when its your baby.. I worried when I had Bailey fixed too...But, he did great...... I had to keep ointment on his incision to keep it from getting infected.. And trying to keep him from licking it was almost impossible...

Kino will be OK, but like Lil'Paws said, it's almost impossible to stop them from licking... The surgery itself is minor and he probably won't spend much time under anesthesia.

I know how hard it is when its your baby, though! I was jitterish about letting Ripley have surgery until the vet invited me to watch..

I think they would let me watch, but unfortunatly I have to work at 6am which is why Kino's Daddy is taking him. They plan on him being out by 8am, and the surgery over soon after.
But he comes home at 6pm...

Oh, okay.

A very handy thing is the elizabethan collar, for the first day you get them back from surgery. I didn't have one for Ripley and he drove me insane, trying to pull the sutures out. The collar is probably uncomfortable, though, I preferred just putting a leash on Ripley and pulling his head up every time he tried to lick or bite his sutures.

Good luck, to you and Kino!

They kept Bailey for about 10 hours after her surgery too. I brought her favorite stuffed animal and blankie to put in the kennel with her while she was in recovery. I hope it made her feel more comfortable. I didn't want her to feel scared and confused about us leaving her, and having to stay in the cage with out us. They also gave us about 4 days worth of pain medication to help her feel comfortable.

Nutering is less invasive than spaying and absolutely routine. Your pup will be fine.

Give Kino a hug from me. He'll be just fine. I was worried though too....can't help it. But he'll be fine.

New toys for Kino.. He'll be happy... From my experience They are going to lick I don't think you can completely stop it.. Just when you see Kino lick deter him...
I used Triple antibotic ointment on Bailey..

hes home...the surgery went fine...
he got very timid after it though, I think thats just cuz he was scared we werent there. Which im sure going on vacation over the weekend then subjecting him to this today didnt help. He wasnt with us much in the last few days...once he saw me with his bunny he got a big better...

They also said he has been licking...A LOT...hes got iodine on his nose from it. Hes sleeping now.

I feel bad that I have to leave the Min Pins locked in another room while hes in the living room, but its for the best....

Kinos daddy even has the morning off tomarrow to spend with him...
