My missfits
T-Bone and Dozer I call them my missfits...They don't like to go anywhere with out eachother and always play together nicely...Mind you Dozer will bug T-Bone till she plays with him or till he ticks her off lol
Different litters.T-Bone was my pick of the litter weighing 9.2 ounces at birth, and at 7 weeks she got cherry eye http://www.eyevet.ca/ We were gonna leave it but by 8 months the third eye gland (cherry eye) started rubbing on the lense of her eye and was causing a flim which would of caused her to go blind. We did a third eye gland tuck and her eye's to this day are beautiful. I had her spayed at 5 months old. T-Bone now weighs 26.4 pounds. Dozer weighed 8.9 ounces at birth, he was born with a rectal prolapse which got worse and at 8 weeks we did a purse string on him (surgery) which kinda worked. His lil bum doesn't protrude all the way now but still looks like a red little cherry. We did not have the heart to PTS, he still eats, runs, poo's and plays normal so decided to give him a chance, after all my fault he is here I bred him. I had him fixed at 5 months of age. I had to have him on metamucille to soften his poo so he could go to the bathroom , had him on Eukanuba and about a year ago switched him (all dogs) to Nutro Natural Choice lamb n' rice and I no longer have to give him metamucille (fibre), which is good his poo is normal. In the hot weather tho he does get the diahrrea and I have to give him keopectate to harden him up some. I have to keep an eye on how his poo is because of his bum. He now weighs 24.6 pounds. I also think Dozer may have Cerebellar Hypoplasia (Underdevelopment of the back part of the brain, characterized by lack of balance) cause he tends to keep his head side ways when he is standing and walking, he's our special needs pup. I have never had him tested and really don't see the point in doing a cat scan just to be told this. I know boston's are not suppose to weigh more then 25 pounds but T-bone has no fat on her at all and is a good weight for her height. All my boston's are perfectly marked, I was hoping on breeding her but with her lil problem I chose fixing her would be the best. The cherry eye is common on bulgy eye breeds but I was worried she would of put to much strain on her eye's if I bred her, also she has a very big head and a small behind so I think her pelvic would of been way to small for free whelp and would of ended up with a section...Wish I waited a lil longer before I fixed them but they are lovely pets now. Just thought I would share a little about my missfits, I call them that because they are my bratts That is one reason why I no longer have breeding bitches cause I know I would keep all puppies with problems if there are any and well right now 5 dogs are enough, we use to have 6. |

They are so sweet. Good to hear they have you to care for their special needs.
We are thinking of adding a Boston to our pack. How do they get along with larger dogs? |

Boston's don't think they are small dogs at all, but do get along with larger dogs (Taz is a giant dog lol) if socialized properly if an adult, or introduced as puppies. They seem to get on fine...Junior has a thing for big furry dogs he doesn't like them much don't know why. Some breeders I have talked to raise Boston's and Bordeaux's (French Mastiff-Turner and Hooch), others have them and American Bulldogs. Alot have big and little breeds, think it all comes down to how you raise them. They are smart energetic little dogs, just make sure if you get off a breeder they do all the genetic/herditary checks on the parents before the bred them like Juvinile cateracts, slipping knee's ect.
They do make wonderful pets, but of course I am bias lol ![]() |

Great pictures! The one in the pumpkins are hilarious! I also really like the ones with all of them sitting so nicely for a group picture. The one with the kitten and the mouse is very nice too! Didn't the kitten try to play/eat the mouse?

Nope cause they were both babies, the kitten we were just babysitting him his name was Haze and the mouse her name was Pinky. I had 2 mice from 2 days old (brother and sister-Bob and Pinky) and my female rat Kitty raised them
with her litter. They were so friendly and loved to be held ![]() |
