Works EVERY time. LOL. (operant conditioning at it's best)

Well, maybe I'll just wait until after you get back...the 18th or so. Or I could make two trips and come late Sept or early Oct. I'd love to meet you. And I stay primarily at my daughter's right on Alki (1/2 block away) But, I'd love it if you could see my area. If you like the wilderness, beautiful water... you'd love it here.

Here's a picture of Alki to freshen your mind and entice you more:

Here's another one:

Sheesh, can't anyone come to Florida? LOL

Probably not around this time, as there is a Tropical storm brewing into a hurricane right off shore, and another tropical depression in the Atlantic.

*sigh*

Got room for 4 big dogs, 3 cats, a hamster and 4 humans? LOL

We're going to wait and see what the wind ranges are going to be like for our area to see whether or not we're putting up the boards over the windows. Most likely will be though. Tonight we took down the gazeebo in the back and the swing, along with all the other crap out there. Haha!

Ok...the eyes did the trick! We can now leave for Montana on the 7th of September....but no later, I promised DH we would be fishing on our lake by the evening of the 8th. Carrie, would you be here before the 7th, and what day can we all get together? QW, I can probably come pick you up if you give me really good directions once I get to Bellingham. I don't do well driving in city traffic, I'm still a small town girl at heart. I know there are buses that go from Bellingham airport to Seattle airport too. I think they are pretty cheap, like 10 bucks. RBW, when are you able to go galavanting around? I really, REALLY want to do this!!!!! Carrie, if you go back to Idaho before the 18th maybe we can stop by and visit your neck of the woods on the way home from Montana. It would be fun to make a stop for a few hours and let the dogs run. We go to the same spot in Montana every single year. We could make this a little annual doggie get together. LOL

OK...Barrett, if I leave on the 1st or 2nd (Thurs or Fri) we could get together maybe on the 5th (Mon) because I'd probably need to go to Bainbridge on the weekend for my birthday at my folks. I wonder if that would work for you. Do you know Alki? That is a pretty good place to walk the dogs along the beach. Well...you aren't allowed on the beach with dogs, but theres a walkway that goes a long ways. (if you aren't familiar with it) And/or.....I'll only stay there about a week, so I would be home by the 18th and you guys could swing up here too if you like.

Lyric is not good with other dogs, but if he's on a leash. I mean, he's good at school when he's "working" but otherwise, it's scary. He's getting better at behaving himself though, but not great. But if we walked parallel along Alki, I think he'd be fine. I give him my "do or die" (leave it!!!!) voice ahead of time and he's pretty good.

Anybody else? Quincy, if you could get on a bus and come part way down....I could come and get you. Can you get to Everett? I know that area like the back of my hand. I don't know how it would work with the dogs though. Actually, I do know. With Lyric in the back of my Subaru and putting another dog in there........I wouldn't have a car left and you wouldn't have a dog left. So, maybe you could either leave your dog behind, which would be sad, or I could leave my dogs at my daughters while I picked you up. Do they let dogs on a bus? Or you might be able to get a ride part way with someone else coming that way?

Anyhow, does Alki sound like a good spot to you Barrett? Anybody else going to be in the area around that time?

Hi All!

If Quincy plans his trip to Whidbey around the 5th, I could bring him with me over to Alki for the afternoon. Or else you guys could come to the Island. I live just above a huge, long walking beach. Either that, or if Quincy makes it to Seattle, I can meet up with you guys and then bring him back for his Island visit afterwards.

I don't think Quincy has his dog with him. Tia pretty much ignores other dogs when in a parallel formation, too. She is also pretty good with other dogs as long as they don't push it. She obeys me well, and only pulls a little if excited, so I just do little manuvers to get her attention back on me...hey where did Deb and Tia go?!

Again, my schedule is flexible and you guys are welcome here. My parents have a cabin and two trailers on their property, 1 mile up the road. I'm sure they would let us use it unless a family member has prior "dibs".

I would love to meet you guys!

Or.....here's another thought. We can forget the dogs....lock 'em up and go out together at night. Oh...some of you aren't of drinking age. I thought a little music and beer would be fun. Ok....hmmm, back to the dogs. It could be quite a trick to be able to go to a restaraunt or anything with all the dogs. What could we do?

I don't want to spend money for a groomer. LOL. I have a Doberman and two short hair Chihuahuas! LOL. But thanks for the suggestion. Maybe someone else can afford that. Any other ideas? Or are you fresh out? LOL. (I know...I'm an ungrateful wench)

Monday the 5th sounds perfect for me! I start Vacation on the 4th...woo-hooo!!!!!!!! Bailey gets along great with other dogs and does really well off leash on the beach if that is allowed. I can always stick Lucy in her backpack and carry her if she gets scared. That part is easy. I don't know Alki or Whidbey very well but I am willing to venture to either place if I have a good set of directions and a map. Carrie, I have an extra doggie backpack for your Chi (s) if you want to use one. That might make it easier to control our pack. LOL.

Oh, cool Barrett...I'll be over there in Seattle then on Thurs, maybe Fri. (if I can't get my act together by Thurs.)

Now, if Quincy and RBW can do this, we're really getting somewhere. Does the 5th work for you guys? What should we do? Whidby or Alki? In the case of Whidby RBW, do we take the Mulelteo ferry or drive up north and come across Deception Pass? (Please say Mulelteo) LOL. I think the other would be too long a day for me. Or would Alki work for everyone? It's kind of centrally located for Barrett and me....probably you too RBW if you're on the south end of the island. (I forget what you said) So, we better hurry and figure this out....where to meet, what to do.

If there's anyone else who thinks they can do this, that would be soooooo cool!

Thanks Barrett for the back pack offer. Chuli could go in that but Jose weighs too much for me to carry for too long. (15-16 lb) My back isn't the greatest lately...too much heavy lifting. LOL. Or I could leave some or all dogs at my daughters if it's not too long a day.

Well, let's get this solidified guys. Quincy....did you discover anything about the bus? Can that work for you part of the way going south?
