WTA busses run to Whidbey, but there are a lot of transfers...let me investigate it a bit more and I'll see what the best method is...I'll check back in a couple hours..

Hi Guys,

The 5th works for me. I live in Freeland, 15 miles north from the Mukilteo to Clinton ferry on the south end.

We have a lot of cool beaches and hiking trails. But, I can come over to the other side, too! I'll let you guys decide. Leaving the Island by car on the 5th or 6th is going to be rough because of the holiday traffic. Meaning, a really long wait in a ferry line, unless traveling early in the morning. Walking on, is not a problem. But that would mean a pick-up by someone on the other side!

Hey Quincy, how are your plans coming?

Ive never taken a a ferry by myself before! How exciting! I'm willing to go to you guys if it makes it easier. Or maybe those of us on the mainland could meet somewhere and carpool over. I have a big subaru outback that can seat 5 plus a dog or two in the back. I have a doggy barrier up. I could certainly leave the dogs home too. You guys have seen them in pictures....LOL....they still look the same. It's you guys I want to meet!.

Grrrrrrr. My computer keeps crashing! 5 times today. We better exchange phone numbers via p.m. in case we get messed up.

Maybe Barrett and I could meet around Alki and I could drive us up to Mukelteo and we could walk on board and you could pick us up RBW. I guess it would be easier without the dogs. But on the other hand, it might be too long of a time to leave them. What do you think Barrett? Driving on board in the holiday thing would indeed be a mess. I know how the Bainbridge ferry is. Ugggg. So, I'll pm. you with my number but my daughter's phone got lost and I don't think she has a new one yet. Hmmmm.Well, if I have yours, at least that would help in case we need to contact one another.

So, what do you think? Or would you rather meet at Alki and have fish 'n chips and walk along the beach? Maybe if you left super early RBW in the a.m. the traffic wouldn't be so bad. People will be leaving probably later. But on the way home, it might be bad. The traffic will be bad up and down I-5, I'm sure. So, there's probably no way around it. Well, I'll p.m. you guys.

Quincy, can you get to Mukelteo or Everett?

I can leave my dogs home no problem..they have air conditioning. LOL. Are we allowed to walk dogs onto the Ferry or do you have to keep them in the car? Carrie, I have two backpacks for little dogs so if your daughter can't watch all 3 of your dogs all day we could take the chi's with us. I can carry Jose, I think my back could handle the little chunk. LOL. If we meet at Alki and do the beach walk, that would be fun too. Com'on guys...lets pick a place!! I'm getting excited!

Looks like busses are going to be a stretch. But, I met someone here who has family living on Whidbey where RBW lives...and bikes there every month. He says it's a great ride and not too hard, about 85 miles. I am waiting for a response from RBW to see if this is OK with her. It's supposed to rain on the 4th and 5th, so I'm looking to leave on the 3rd. I'm not sure if that will mesh with what you all are doing, but I'm flexible and willing to change plans based on needs.

You think you are going to bike 85 miles?????????? Gosh QW, I'm sure I can pick you up. PM me with your street address so I can do a search and see how to get there. I'll leave early in the morning and we'll meet RBW and Carrie somewhere. You can't bike that far, you'll be too tired to visit and it's too hot! Did you check the bus that goes from Bellingham airport to Seatac airport? I thought it was only about 10 dollars or so. If you could get to Seatac I could pick you up after work and take you to RBW's.

Thanks Lil Paws! I wish you could do this too. I wish lots of you could come too. We're still working out the bugs....hope we can coordinate.

RBW, if you want to come to Seattle, I'll come to Mukelteo and pick you up so you don't have to take the car on board. If you want us to come there maybe we can leave our car on the Mukelteo side and you could pick us up on Whidby. I know the holiday ferry traffic will be disastersville. I gotta do the Bainbride ferry on Sat to go see my folks for my birthday which is the 4th.

Anyhow....where would you guys rather do this?

QW. Bellingham is 90 miles from Seattle. (I think) There has got to be a bus that will bring you down to Everett. That would be a hop, skip and a jump from Mukelteo. (15 minutes) Barrett and I could come get you and then scoot over to meet up with RBW in Mukelteo.
