Wow, those are wonderful pictures, Carrie. Thanks for sharing! The area I live in is flat and boring LOL The beaches are the prettiest scenery we've got.

I especially love the one of the deer swimming, and Lyric prancing along, with I believe the beloved Bonnie?

Ohhh what I wouldn't give for that kind of a view Carrie! All I have is flat land, corn fields, bean fields and a little alfalfa here and there. *sighs**

Glad you like the pictures everyone. It is pretty here, but of course, like anywhere, there are the drawbacks...not much work and not much night life. LOL.

The bears are definitely coming around....poop in my driveway, dogs barking their heads off every night lately.

Last night, went out on the porch to smoke (yup...haven't kicked it yet) and Lyric came out and ran full speed around my detached garage and while he was way on the left side, I could also hear, besides his thundering hooves, another animal thundering way to my right side. He was after something that sounded heavy. Of course, if it were a bear, it could outrun Lyric, but I was yelling at Lyric to come and he flat out was intensely into the chase, was going to get that bear no matter what....there was no listening to me. Grrrrr. They're running out of berries up high and are starting to come down here....getting into dumpsters at restaraunts. Someone saw a 300 pounder...big bear.

My b.f's son was walking back to bf's house from his brothers the other night and as he was coming through a trail in the dark, there was a bear standing there, so he backed up and went back to his brothers. LOL.

Yesterday on my hike, I think there was a bear. The dogs all started running toward the sound I heard in the woods and I saw motion (but couldn't see anything) ...down a hill along side the trail....it sounded heavy, crashing around. This time the dogs listened to me and we went back to the car.....very short lived hike. Then we found another place to try. LOL. Gee wiz...a couple more months till hybernation. Of course, the black bears are generally shy about people (and domestic dogs) unless they have cubs or feel trapped. But still.....it's a little nervewracking at times, especially when I find poo patties full of worms in my yard. Yuk. And poor bear must not be well.

I still haven't gotten around to renewing my concealed weapons permit so I am a little worried about carrying my gun just in case a forest service guy would see me. It is a felony if you have one concealed without a permit. And it's so small....hard to carry in the open cuz I don't have a holster for it....usually just stick it in my jean's pocket. LOL. So there I am out in the middle of what you see in those hills of the picture with nothing but Lyric to protect me. LOL.
