Pedigrees, papers, and more...
Ok, I really need some advice on this. This is not training or biting or walking or whatever. I got my now 3 month old German Shepherd puppy July 18th, with a promise from the original owner (let's give her the nickname Cece, THIS IS NOT HER REAL NAME). She was supposed to send the pedigree of my puppy Grizzly, as well as his AKC Registration papers. It has been over a month, and no pedigree or papers. We paid $1,050 for this dog! Cece is a breeder from Sunny Terrace Kennels, did anyone ever hear of that kennel?? Not only do we not have his papers for a pretty high (for me, anyway) priced dog, but when we got him, he was infested with ticks, hundreds of them, everywhere! Cece said that he had no ticks when her vet checked him over, and that he must have picked them up when he went to go potty outside right before his shipment over plane. There is NO way that he picked up ticks of that quantity and size in 5 minutes time! We also found out that he has undescended testicles, which she did NOT tell us about. I kept in touch with her over email since I got him, and when I questioned her about the papers, she said she'd get them to me by the end of the week, 3 weeks ago! I tried to call her, after searching for her number in my phone bill, but it's either busy, or the operator says that number does not exist. Please, does anyone, ANYONE have any advice on what to do??? HELP!

It sounds to me like you've been taken for a very expensive ride. I doubt you'll ever see papers for your pup at this point and can only advise you at this point that if you have the correct name and address of this person that you file a complaint with the AKC or whatever registry your pup was supposed to have been registered through.
IF you have a contract ( which I highly doubt from the sound of it ) that states your entitled to papers I would send a certified letter to this so called breeder and give them a deadline for the proper paperwork. If then the papers are not sent you can take the matter to civil court. I am sorry this has happened, it is people like this that give reputable breeders a bad name and I hope that your at least able to get things straightened around. This is just another example of why it's never a good idea to purchase a puppy sight unseen, without meeting and investigating the breeder and their kennel as well as never, ever purchasing a puppy without the proper paperwork already in hand. |

See, the thing is Crossfire Bulldogs, is that I do have the name and adress, but I don't even know if Sunny Terrace Kennels exists! I've done many searchs for it, and got no luck; I've even done a satellite search of the adress, and gotten no luck either. When Grizzly came by plane, attached was a letter from Cece. On the envelope was a stick-on adress thing, basically a sticker you can make on your own computer. Now I think I understand why Cece told me not to come and pick up Grizzly myself... About the filing a complaint, how would AKC be able to help me in this situation?
