Emergency Trip to the Vet today

When I came home for lunch today Kota had an accident in the kitchen. It was diahrea but it had blood in it. So I picked it up put it in a bag and took Kota to the vet. They did some tests on the contents of the bag and said that Kota probibly has some kind of worm that their test isn't showing up with. I was worried that Kota got a bone from the trash. My mother informed me this morning that she threw away some scraps that had been in the fridge for a few days and she stepped outside. When she came back Kota had gotten into it. I was worried that the bones might have gotten cought and told the vet what had happened. She said Kota would be vomitting if it was the bones. That's not really a relief to me. This lady said she had worms based on an educated guess. the test for the type of worm she thinks Kota has is expensive. She said there was no need to do the test. (Still not making me feel any better) And the treatment wouldn't hurt her if she's wrong. (Not helping her either is it). This woman is new.. I hate educated guesses and newbie vets Im weary of. We'll see if she's better by the end of the week. I hope so!

sometimes they can get a tummy upset and get blood and muchus in thier poo.
Keep a close eye on her and perhaps even give her tummy a rest for 24 hours just supplying water.

You know, your about the fifth person I've had mention bloody stool from their dog in the past three days. I honestly think theres a bit of a virus going around but thats just me.

It could be. Honostly though she's had loose stool off and on for a few weeks. I thought that it was because Sierra keeps giving her scraps. I still think that is the cause really. But the worms does have a probability too. Though I wormed her prior to this. She has three days worth of medicine. So it's just a wait and see now. She seems to be fine and is taking a snoose right now.

The blood definatly scared me! I missed a bit of work..but of course it's worth it to know my baby's ok.

I am going to call the vet again today. No diareah with blood. But she has been constipated. I would think the wormer would have made her go potty to expel worms. She has urinated and is still eating/drinking. But I want to make sure...ya know.. Maybe it wasn't enough wormer. We'll see.

Of course they are our kids Linnie! Wouldn't have it any other way!

I gave Kota a couple more days. Since I'm prone to over reacting anyway and I figured she's doing good in the eating/drinking dept.. I'd give it more time. Which is just what she needed.

She's doing fine now. No blood. No diareah. and she's going potty just fine.
