without the common people to keep a watch on politicians and complain if they are unhappy about any situation, we would soon become a total world ruled by dictators.
Most basic belief I was reared with is.... Man has freedom of speech... When a person runs for the head position in his country naturally he wont please all the people but he is under obligation to listen and in theory should always put his country first. Bush, Clinton, Reagan...all just mere mortals trying to do Gods Job. No matter who is your president he will eventually pass and another will take his place and the same problems will persist. I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread and getting the perspective of another country from the horses mouth so to speak ![]() |

Here's something for the Bush lovers:
1.) go to www.google.com 2.) type in "failure" without the quotes 3.) press the "I'm feeling lucky" button .... (instead of the google search one) 4.) Laugh |

Mad About Bush?
Bush is a only a symptom of the problem...the problem being the people of the United States do not really have a choice. The two-party system is the problem. When we finally get the chance to vote, we have just two choices. Now we have also found out that maybe our vote did not get counted anyway. The rich own this country and their votes are the only ones that count...and they want someone they can control. Oh yeah, Bush!

LOL! How can the two party system be a problem if the rich vote is the only one that counts? There are rich Republicans and rich Democrats. And rich Independants. And rich Communists. And rich Socialists. We don't have a two party system. We have choices. You can vote for yourself if you want.

The fact that independant and alternative party candidates (Green, Libertarian, etc...) aren't allowed on the ballots in most states and they are not allowed to participate in the debates indicates to me a big problem with our system. When the votes of our armed services stationed overseas are not counted because some appointed official say "it wouldn't change the outcome", when people are denied the right to vote based on wrong information is some computer system somewhere, and when the Supreme Court chooses a President there is a problem with our system.
