drug mules
I know this has nothing to do with dogs
But what are your thoughts on people who go into countrys where they know the dealth penalty applys for carrying drugs. Do you think the government should step in to protect them if they are definately guilty no doubt at all? |

I think the death penalty is a bit harsh for drug dealing. If it was murder or something like that then i agree with the death penalty.
I think the goverment should step in and at least try and keep the drug trafficer alive (dont get me wrong, I hate drugs). Alot of the times people only start dealin' drugs cause they are low on money, its "easy" money so they say, (its stressful, not easy) |

Honestly, I think if they're aware (and everyone is) that the penalty in those countries for trafficing drugs is death...and they do it anyway. Too bad for them. They knew the risk and obviously said "Ok...well, I'm prepared to do it anyway".
Perhaps I'm too harsh but I've seen up close what drugs do to people and I do think the death penalty is appropriate for drug dealers and trafficers (how ever you spell it), they ruin people's lives. However....if it's obviously for personal use (like that Aussie model who had 2 tabs of ecstacy in her bag) I think jail time is far more appropriate than death. Cass. |

Have you ever seen the movie Maria Full of Grace? I know it's a fictionalized piece, but it's interesting and it does make you think about the reality of drug traffickers.

Dogs are used as "mules". The drugs are inside balloons, inside the dog. Now, you really don't think the dogs get to live after they do their job, now do you?
I am not in favor of the death penalty for drug smugglers. We can find a better "use" for them, and let them live to serve. |
