Wrong Number Rant...

Small rant.. hehe..

Okay we got our phone number changed awhile back and turns out we got a phone number of what used to belong to the Hatfields.. Several times a day, I get a call... "Yes, is this the Hatfield residence?" No, lady, it's not. "Okay, I'll try the number again." Ugh... Fine. She called back eight times one day and I told her that this used to belong to the Hatfields, but it's ours now. A few hours later, someone else calls.. and then someone else.. The next time someone calls me and asks if this is the Hatfield residence, I'm going to say, "No, wes the McCoys and we's a feudin'!" *sigh*

Pleeeeeeeeease use that line next time someone calls. ROFLMAO!! It made me laugh out loud when I read it.

We got the same thing.. Doctors call to give them information or whatnot, credit card companies have been calling as of late. It does get very annoying.

I had the same thing happen on my phone line 7 years ago when it was first hooked up. The guy who used to own the number was, how can I put this?, very popular with the credit collection company. We'd get calls for him that lasted almost 6 months and I got fed up and called directory assistance and come to find out he was still listed in their program under our number. They fixed it and at the same time I got his new number and kept it by my phone. Ever time collections called for him after that I just gave them his new number.

my mother's number is one number off from the local Hardees....they will get calls early in the morning from employees saying they are running late. My mom has just started saying (in her best southern voice, as she lives in NC)..."That's alright sweety, you just take your time, we've got you covered"....LOL

I feel your pain. I know it sucks getting wrong calls. I am getting wrong numbers on my Cell phone for a Lisa. "no this isn't Lisa's phone."

When I lived at home my parents phone number had two numbers switched from a local biker shop (Ricochet speed shop). Theirs ended in 2548 whil eht biker shop ended in 2458, we were always getting calls asking for Spike. Funny thing was my dad took his bike to Spike, so I got used to the calls and Id politly say what their number is. Spike and the other guys at the shop were always apologising, sadly they went out of business due to a death.

I kept getting calls on my cell phone from a hotel manager wanting to know why I wasn't at work. Problem was, it was at all hours of the night, and my phone was shut off, so I would get the voice mail. Anyway, I finally called the hotel and told them they had the wrong number, ...the manager asked me "Is this Jennifer?"..."yes"...."Well, you need to quit playing games and come to work"..."I don't work for you"..."Yes you do, Jennifer"...basically, after arguing with him about who I was, we figured out that another "Jennifer" started working there, and on her application had randomly wrote down a phone number...it just happened to be mine!! BUt that manager was determined that I was lieing to him!!

Oh do I feel your pain!

My cell phone gets calls for Rite-Aid all the time! I get probably 5 or 6 a day because the town where it is (San Diego I think) has two area codes in the same town. The number for Rite-aid is the same number as mine, just a differnt area code, so when people call 411, they call my number!
