The Sims 2

Is anyone into The Sims 2??
I'm obsessed with this game (and with the first Sims game too). I get so involved with my families and now that they have genetics too and can grow up, grow old and die, I'm even more obsessed than before.

The first expansion pack, University, was a massive disappointment. Mostly because 98% of objects etc.. were geared towards the new neighbourhood, rather than being for all the other sims. I desperately wanted some new clothes for the other sims and was a bit pee'd off when the new life stage was only available in the university neighbourhood. PLUS Uni takes too bloody long and achieves nothing much. *sigh*

Ok...I'm sooooooooooooooooooo excited about the release of the new expansion, Nightlife, today. I've pre-ordered it, but can't pick it up myself so I've entrusted my father with that chore. He has promised me, he'd pick it up. *sigh* I had a dream last night that the store wouldn't give me a copy of the game, even though I've pre-ordered and paid for it in full already.

Ok, it wasn't a dream it was a NIGHTMARE!!! ROFL

I want my game! I want to stay up for 24hrs straight playing it.

I want my sims to finally have cars and to see vampires and and and and...I have no idea what else is this new one since I've tried to avoid all the hype (that's what ruined University for me).

Ok..I seem to have turned this into an essay. LOL Anyhoo...is anyone here into the Sims 2? Excited about the expansion packs? Any one have thoughts on the new one or the game itself? Have pictures of their sims to share?? Just want to talk about your Sim families?

I love it!!!! I spent most of my summer playing the game and I guess I will have to talk my mom into getting me the new expansion since I've played out most of the families!

I have the Sims but haven't gotten Sims2 yet. I'm afraid I'll be just as addicted! LOL

I love my Sims and have a great time building new houses, making new wallpaper and such. It is getting a bit moring though since I've taken it as far as it can go soooo Sims2 is going to be coming soon.

I know what you mean.....I've spent sooo much time playing that game! I LOVE it!

The vacation pack was pretty cool....the best part of Hot Date was the resturant part....even though I could never create one without problems.

I purchased a Sims game to play on my husband’s xbox. I felt left out since both my husband and son are so much into video games. I gave it my best shot and I sucked. "lol" All I kept doing was cleaning up their pee since I didn't realize they had to go ever so often to the bathroom and cleaning up messes after the flies conjugated. My nine year old nephew is a pro at that game and made fun of the way I played. I definitely was doing something wrong.

Haha!! My father and sister suck at it too. Well, my sister is better than my father. Dad is so hopeless at it, his sims always end up in poverty and near death from starvation.
I know it shouldn't, but it cracks me up to watch. LOL

The Sims 2 is much more difficult to get a hang of, especially if you were struggling with the first one.
It's more fun in some ways though. The only thing I really miss from the first Sims game is the pets. Unleashed was my absolute favourite. I adored having a house full of dogs and cats to care for. I even created a border collie kennel. Had the best trained, most successful BC in all of SimCity. ROFL

I wish they would hurry up and create an animal expansion for Sims 2.

Here are some pictures from my Sims 2 game. They're a little old but I haven't been taking screen caps of my latest game and the ones I've taken with the games camera don't seem to be showing up in my game file *sigh* anyway, I hope you like them

Ok...first one is my guy Pascall. He was abducted by aliens and got pregnant. My game glitched when he gave birth (which he is doing in the picture) and he, for some reason, had 4 babies instead of one (or two...twins are rare but possible). So here he is with two of his 4 babies, one on the way and the 4th is actually being held by his brother who snuck out of shot when I took the picture. DARN IT! I'll post a picture of the alien quads together if anyone is interested, later.

Oh what the heck...here they are as children. They're called Pepsi, Viridian, Uhura and Krysta.

Two houses...

Hmm...what's that in the second house's basement? Why it's a swimming pool, of course!

And here's a shot of a burglar about to rob one of my Sim houses. I love this picture.

I should get my new expansion tonight, around 6.30 or 7. I'm so impatient. Today seems to be going so slowly. It's like when you were a kid and xmas eve just dragged on and on and on.... LOL

I'm a little more than obsessed. Besides dogs, the Sims 2 is like.. the only reason I wake up in the morning! LOL.

I'm doing the Legacy Challenge right now, and my sim mom got eaten by the cow plant!! So now I'm working on getting her twin sons to produce the third generation. =)

I love the challenge, it's much more exciting than 'kachinging' or 'motherlodeing' your sims way to success. So far I've only made it up to 4 generations. University is making it take a lot longer than I'd like. *sigh*

Ok......I have NIGHTLIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I started playing it last night (I swear you'd have thought I'd won the lottery or something when my dad handed it over

). It's great, sooooo many new objects and CLOTHING!!!!! YIPEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! LOTS OF NEW CLOTHES!

I created a new character to try out the new expansion. Her name is Alyssa Nightingale and her aspiration is Pleasure (which is new for this exp. ). So far I think I've met one vampire, which I had her go out on a date with (she has a thing for vampires LOL ). It's weird because when they see someone they're really attracted too there are all these lovehearts that float around them.

There is a load of new interactions and if they're attracted to the person little lightning bolts will show up on some of the interactions. I assume it's because those particular things (like kissing and flirting) will make or break the connection between them.

There is also this Gypsy woman who turns up when your sim first moves into the house and you can call her later if you want to buy a love potion (or if your sims a vampire and decides they don't want to be anymore...I believe she has the cure).

If your sim is a vampire (and they must be 'turned' to be so) they can buy a COFFIN to sleep in. ROFLMFAO!!!!!

Lots of new furniture too and my favourite thing so far is......

CARS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll have to get some screen shots for you. Oh gods, I love the cars.
You just drive to a community lot (of which there are MANY now, even a gallery with a flaming toilet........err...you had to be there

) and your sim parks the car out the front...all ready for when they want to go home.

Soooo cool. And cheap too. The cheapest car is 950 simoleans. Very reasonable.

Ahhh..ok. I MUST get screen shots for you all. It's so cool. I wish my computer was a bit faster. Sims 2 is such a big game and then add 2 exp packs on to it. Phew! LOL

After Global Paw, I'm going to spend a lovely weekend with my bum glued to my computer chair and my mind off in Simland.

I bought this game a while back and played it for a couple weeks but never really got into it. I get really "busy" when I sit and watch movies or play games...

Pippinislove... Mwahahahahahaha! I've been playing it on and off all day. I love it. This expansion is the best of the first two they've released. I've yet to meet any vampires though. The guy I thought was a vampire called my sim Alyssa and asked her out on a date in the morning, now since Vamps can't go out during daylight hours...my hunch is he ain't no blood sucker. LOL

Here's a picture of Alyssa playing poker in one of the new community lots. If you look at her aspiration (for those who don't know, it's the little green picture to the right of her head in the bottom panel) you'll see what the new 'pleasure' aspiration icon looks like.

Oh and the weird looking 'wants' she has there are "play prank on someone" and "juggle".

EDIT: Alyssa is the woman with the red jacket and black hair.

Since I preordered it, I'm now waiting (in confusion) for Maxis to email me with details about the exclusive 'pre-order' car I'm suppose to get. It's a hotrod thing of some sort (gold star to anyone who can guess whether I'm a 'car person' or not

I have the Sims 2 but I haven't played it for ages. For some reason my computer likes to crash half-way through the game!!

It takes up way too much memory. If I remember correctly the game is like 300 mb in total.

It does take up a lot of space. I think I'm going to have to upgrade my computer soon because I don't think it'll take many more expansion packs (if any).

*wishes on a star* I hope the next exp pack has pets in it. I want my simmies to have furbabies!
