My pup is a little daddy's girl. She likes her mommy, but loves me. The funny thing is she loves women and hates most men.

I don't have that problem...it's just me and Jack but my mom says her puppy just goes nuts over my step dad and it makes her jealous sometimes too. We figure it's because my step dad isn't around that much and when he is, all he does is play with her. She kinda thinks of him as a littermate, we think. Mom does the training and plays "the bad guy" while he is just "good time Charlie". Why would she NOT like him more!
When or if I ever do get married, I'm sure Jack will still like me best. He's so attatched to me now I feel like a siamese twin! |

I have heard female dogs prefer to bond with males. *shrug* I've only ever had male dogs, so who knows.
Pippin is most definately attached to me. =) |

My male Chihuahua prefers men and, although he's friendly with women, will gravitate towards any men that happen to be around him. He's much quicker to be affectionate to men.

Well, this is an interesting topic for me. When we got Jasmine she came to work with me every day for 4 months. I fed her, I took her to training, I took her in the car everywhere with me and never left her home with my husband. (she was a bad puppy biter and he didn't have the patience for it or potty training, he likes them better as dogs.)
She JUST loved me, we were always together. She was my baby!!!!! Now all the sudden hubby has decided she is a dog and he loves her,.... no kidding, I've spent 10 months training her to be great. But Jasmine stinker has decided that now daddy is her favorite. She just loves him!!!! It's crazy, I still feed her, walk her, train her, but daddy is her guy! |

One thing I've discovered about Kimi is that she's an insatiable flirt. It's not that she prefers men so much as she just can't pass up a chance to exercise her feminine wiles on them. You have to see it to believe it, but whenever I bring a boyfriend home, the hips start swinging, her gait becomes prancier, a whole bunch of toys come out, and you can almost see her bat her eyes. As soon as she's done toying with them she goes back to being a Shiba, which means that the only people that get any type of preferential treatment are immediate family members, or people that hate dogs (Shibas have wicked senses of humor).
Tai doesn't have a preference, and is not the flirt his "little sister" is. |

Lucy is very peculiar with her affection. In the mornings my husband is up way before me and Lucy will have nothing to do with him at that time of day. Not for a walk, a treat or anything. If I am not out of bed she isn't getting up either.
Now during the day if he goes outside and doesn't take her with him she will sit mournfully by the door waiting for him to come in or someone to let her out. When this happens she will have nothing to do with me, anyone else or anything else not even her favorite treats. If only hubby is home she will not eat unless hubby hand feeds her but she eats fine if both of us are gone. She is definately odd. |

Baxter was't socialized before I rescued him from the shelter and seems to be afraid of most men. He loves my husband and gets more excited when my hubby gets home from work than me, with doggie smiles and wagging his whole rear end. Sometimes I get this too, but not as often. Usually I get a decent tail wag and puppy eyes.
He also licks my husband relentlessly, which drives my hubby crazy I did notice that Baxter listens to my commands better and when he gets in trouble with my hubby (usually from licking too much) he runs over to me and sits on my lap. |

It has taken Buddy a while to warm up to my hub. But he loves him now-- as long as he doesn't have his hat on and he's not carrying anything in his hands! LOL But he lays beside me most of the time. When the kids are home, it's like neither of us are around. LOL

My girls love thier Daddy! They listen to me and mind me better but that's because I'm the Mean Mommy Monster that trains with them everyday. They won't do a thing when Daddy tries to train them. In my house Daddy's job is to spoil them rotten and they know they have him wrapped around thier little paws. When it's time to pick my husband up from the airport all I have to say is " wanna go get Daddy?" and they go nuts. When I put them in the car they are staring out the windows and whining the eintire time. As we enter the airport drive I pass over a wierd section of the road that has little bumps on it. As soon as they hear these bumps the go wild and start jumping up and down, fighting over who gets to look out the window and see him first. I have to unhook thier seatbelts before Daddy gets in the car or my dogs would strangle themselves trying to get to him. We have to sit at baggage claim for at least 10 minutes while Bailey and Lucy lick him to death. They love thier Daddy!

Joules loves everyone! But she def likes me best! Although, she is ALWAYS interested in what the bf is doing...she will be sitting on my lap watching him intently. The other night I was putting some laundry away and she was getting very frustrated with me...I kept going from the living room to the bedroom and of course she HAD to follow me...she just wanted me to settle somewhere so she could lay down and continue with her nap.
When I get home from work, she is all wriggles and jumps up on her hind legs and does this little dance thing..the cutest thing ever! She isn't allowed to jump up on people so she jumps up still, but she doesn't touch you. The bf told me yesterday that when he gets home (he gets home before me) she doesn't even get off the couch to greet him! |

Well, Lizzie is a Daddy's girl. She just absolutly loves Clint. Now she will happily see me and follow me around but she listens to daddy more than me. Walter on the other hand loves me to death. He loves Clint but if I move a hair he is up right with me and ready to do whatever. He generally follows me more than Clint. And then Frank doesn't have a favorite yet. I think he is leaning towards Clint because Clint takes him on walks and stuff.
Now if you have a treat in your hand. Forget about it. those dogs are your best friend if they see/smell/think about a treat or rawhide. |

My ACD pup does not like men, but thats okay because for the moment I can't stand men either lol
(just seperated from my daughters father and bought myself a dog). He seems to love women and goes right up to them but he will bark and growl at men except my dad and brother. ![]() |
