anyone had any luck with bones, something that "should" last a golden longer than 10 min.
???? i've tried alot, i've actually seen one get caught in a dogs mouth, (the ones that are sterile, and have filling inside them.pretty scarey for the dog and owner), not interested in kongs, even with peanut butter inside. pressed bones she gets tired of and can swallow them whole, so no longer do we get them tried hooves, sounds like my dog is breaking her teeth just don't know whatelse there is out there to try. ?? just cant seem to find anything that wont tear up her stomach, wont swallow whole, and is actually interested in.. any others??? |

Rib Bones....you can get them pritty big.....they last a while....i wanna try neck bones and other "butcher" bones, but for your case they are smaller and he may still have issues with them....id say your best bet are rib bones...
best place to get them would be a butcher...but like PetCo and PetSmart have them too.... I dont mean like rib bones from dinner left overs...they have I think cow ribs that are like a little over a foot long. they have the marrow in the center....Kino Loves his |

Well, if your dogs don't try to crunch down on a hard bone, then a raw weight-bearing bone with meat on it would last them a good long time.. So would ribs..
One note: The bones are almost useless if you cook them, because then the meat falls off and they don't have something that keeps them attracted to the bone. |

My pugs get raw beef rib bones...and beef marrow bones. Mostly the beef rib bones though. I buy a rack, cut them up individually then freeze them for later. The pugs love them.. I wind up sitting on the back deck with them... read a book and play referee, make sure there aren't any squabbles lol

Fireworks -- my parents think it's revolting, Ripley eats outside now when he gets his raw chicken quarters because mom doesn't want him dragging raw meat all through the house.
Ripley hasn't had rib bones yet.. Shiner used to get a raw meaty rib once in awhile, and she would pick the bone clean and bury it. |

I am a fan of raw meaty marrow bones, Whiskey could bite through nylabone, would try to swallow a rib bone, and smoked bones just fell apart(scary), the raw marrow bones although arestrong should they break a piece are a softer bone less likely to become lodged, never tried raw ribs hmmmm maybe i will try those with zoee.

Zoee will probably love those.. She's small, so no risk of her trying to swallow them whole!
PS -- I won't let ANY of my dogs have those smoked bones.. they crumble and not only make a mess but since the dog ingests almost all of it since it's so crumbly and soft, it's too much bone for their body to handle. |

HeHe, will have to run out and grab some, I was trying to think of an alternative to the marrow as they are to big for my parents JRT and made him sick from overload
.I am so excited I bought her a wicker bed, lined with the lambs wool, and i am putting safety foam under padding, I picked up tiny nylabones, greenies and decided to splurge and try FROMM nutritionalist food, poor girl is eating no name . |
