bad year for snakes

3 in one week

yesterday was very scary though as my little grandaughter was playing with Izzie outside and the snake was less that 12 inches away.

Fortunately we were able to get them to safety and the snake is now hapy in snake heaven

That's so scary.

Glad both child and dog were ok.

But, forgive me, I can't help thinking....poor snake.

No Cas he has a huge area to be safe he shouldnt have come into my yard.
I would rather him dead than my g.daughter or one of my dogs

True and I agree, but I still say 'poor snake'.

I know the feeling all too well. When we lived in FL. we would get rattle snakes and once we has a coral snake in our yard. Our sons were very young and we had a dog. They played in the fenced yard, so we were always on the lookout. We killed them too.

We have quite a few snakes here. If they are nonpoisonous I bag them and relocate them.

We don't have any poisonous snakes in western Washington State. But when my stepsons came from Oklahoma to live with us, they were afraid to walk out into tall grass because they didn't know this.

I've always enjoyed our local garter snakes, and have handled them since I was a kid. I felt bad when I ran over one last month.

It must be scarey living where there are poisonous ones! I wonder what kind of snake it was?

It was a red belly black snake.
And 3 hours later we got a white lipped tiapan
I NEVER kill snakes uness they are in my yard. If they are in the paddock I leave them alone
