It's Snowing!!!!!
I've had insomnia lately. So at 4:45am, I just finished making a homemade pot of chicken noodle soup. How little did I know that this dish would be perfect to ring in our first snow fall of the year! Woot!!! Granted, it's a little slushy, but much of it is sticking. I had no idea until Peanut came in the doggy door from outside covered in snow. Yay!!!!

PROOF --
![]() I thought, for sure, that all the snow would be gone by the time my boyfriend woke up. It hasn't been especially cold here lately, and the snow was completely unexpected. But we just got back from a couple hours out with the dogs. I snapped some pictures. Not that great, but I was just so excited about the snow that I didn't go for the best photo ops. So here you are.... All pics were taken in the fields behind our house: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Did I mention that I LOVE snow? |

Due in December!

Eh... we get so much snow up here that I tend to forget that there are places that don't get snow, and the people there like it. I'm totally ghetto-fabulous though, I still haven't taken down my christmas lights from last season... I was going to... then I realized that I'd just have to put them up again in a few weeks, so yep... I did the unthinkable and left them on for an entire year!
I'm actually quite excited for Gizmo to see the snow. Any dog I've known LOVES to chase after snowballs. I don't think he'll like it too much. So far he's proven to not like the rain so much. |

I knew that with the fall colors and the white snow that it would be beautiful. Great pics and thanx!!
I don't so much mind the snow....its when the wind kicks up and its a cold that just bites you....but a nice day, no wind, and a good snow isn't bad. |

LOL!
It's funny to read about people who like snow. We live in Northern Michigan and get sooo much snow that by midwinter it is hard to get out and excercise the dogs. Too deep to walk in, and the banks are too high and wide to walk on the sides of the roads....tooo dangerous! |

I always manage to find packed down places to walk with the dogs. There are tons of trails which are groomed for X country skiiers and snow shoers. Other trails are groomed for snow mobiles, which of course, I stay away from. There are like 400 miles of groomed trails in this area. Also, about 1/2 mile away is the golf course, which they make trails for walkers/skiiers. I walk more in the winter than summer when it's so hot. Plus...don't you find that the dogs absolutely love the snow? Mine are thrilled when it snows and love just playing in it. They really get the zoomies.

Carrie, No problem, I love seeing other pics, even in my thread. And thanks for the chuckle about my mushy, sticky soup.
Mind you, it was almost 5 am when I wrote that, and I hadn't slept for a while.By the way... I live in an area where we get a ton of snow. Winter season is our longest season. It's cold (often below zero), it's blizzardy, it's all about shoveling and scraping and driving 2mph through feet of snow. But I still love it and get excited about it. The pros far outweigh the cons, in my opinion. I'm just a winter person. And the dogs LOVE it more than anything. I have no problem bundling up like a marshmallow woman so the dogs can play for hours outside. |
