Exclamation Just pulled a tick off my DAUGHTER!

I was so grossed out a little while ago when I pulled a tick off my 4 year old daughter's belly! She had gone on a field trip today to a place called habitat a few towns over from me it is conservation land and they explore nature. I usually give my daughter a bath every night but my mom was over and did it instead while I took the dogs for a walk. When I had come home she was getting out the tub and said momma I have a booboo and my mom had put a bandaid on it thinking it was (She was not wearing her GLASSES! ) So about an hour later she was laying on my bed and said that her booboo hurt and had taken off the bandaid and when I saw it from the distance I could see it had legs! Anyways, I got tweezers and pulled it off. Thank god it wasn't a deer tick but it was attached to her sucking my baby's blood. You know being a groomer I have pulled plenty ticks off dogs including my own, but when you pull one off your child it is such a scary thing. I got so scared when I saw it on her Has anyone ever had a tick on them? I mean my daughter had on a big coat long pants and a long sleeved shirt so it could have crawled up her pant leg right? I called the teacher and told her and she said that they were throwing leaves and brush at eachother.

Ew ew EEWWW!! I've had ticks on me, but never one SUCKING on me. YUCK. Though when I was a kid, I was wading in a river, looked down, and saw a LEECH sucking on my ankle. A LEECH! I remember screaming and walking on water to get to my parents to get that thing OFF!

We used to help my grandpa plant thousands of pine trees every summer, and we'd be covered in ticks. One summer it was so bad, it almost looked like ants crawling up our pant legs. I've only had a few actually attach, when I was young I hardly remember. Usually we check ourselves pretty well. Ticks don't really bother me, but Leeches on the other hand. I love fishing, and won't use leeches. They remind me of snakes plus the movie "Stand by Me" didn't help when it came to leeches.

Oh my gods, how horrible! I remember when I use to go bushwalking with my parents, to archery with my father and mushroom hunting with my stepdad. I use to bring home ticks and leeches on a regular basis....talk about freaking out. Ewwwwwwwww!!! Hate them....HATE them.

Cass.

We have a cabin thing in Northern Wisconsin and we go up there a few times a year(maybe more)....But Anyways, there are TONS of ticks up there and they ALWAYS get on me and attach themselves(Except for this summer, when I tried to stay in as much as possible in hopes of not having one, and it worked!!) It is sooooooooooo GROSS!!!!!! But This Summer, my Dad got one and he got Lyme Disease from it! When we got home he went to the doctor right away and got medication...but wow! Ticks are EVIL!
