I came home from work today, and caught my landlord in my house snooping through our things. I freaked out at her, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Tenancy laws here say that landlords MUST give 24hrs notice before they can enter the house. The worse thing is that now I know this hasn't been the 1st time. Things they gone missing before, and things moved around. But my boyfriend and I have been blaming each other for those things.
I got a new car yesterday, and it’s so quite, she must not have heard me come home. Our other cars have performance mufflers on then that are very loud, and you can hear us coming mile away. So I guess she must have thought she could hear us coming before we got home. Ha caught red handed. I told her we would be moving out ASAP, and I told her I'm putting new locks on the doors, and not giving her the keys until we move out. She tried to say I couldn't do that, and I told her fine then I will call the police right now, and she backed down. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr Now I have to try to find a place that will allow 2 big dogs, and I need to find it fast. |

The dogs are locked in their room when we are out.
I will be reporting her to the Tenancy Board first thing in the morning. I'm still thinking about calling the police, but I really don't want to have to deal with all that right now. The new locks will be on as soon as the stores open tomorrow. I also told her from now on the dogs will be allowed through out the house, and they are very protective of the place. Haha she doesn't have to know that I wouldn't let the dogs have the run of the house will I'm gone. If I did that I wouldn't have anything left when I got home LOL |

Is she the owner or working for the owner? If she is not the official owner - don't move - report her to the Landlord & Tenants bureau and file a police report. Contact the registered owner to have the locks changed immediately & for keys not to be given to her. She should be done as a landlord.

She owns the house. I'm not sure if she rents out any other houses, but I plan on stopping by after she rents this one to someone new, and give them a heads up about her.

We live in the country, so we have a PO box. Other than the mail lady we are the only ones with keys. At least I know my mails safe

does she live close to you? You said it was a house, right?
It seems like a big risk to park a car in front of a house if you're going to do that...unless she walked over. Has anything gone missing? Money, trinkets of some kind...food, even? Taz...not to freak you out or anything, but there have been a lot of stories about landlords going into tenenats houses and doing some really strange things...tampering with food, moving thing around, using your phone...watching TV...etc |
