Great dogs.. but the aussie.. oh WOW!! Absolutely beautiful. I like aussies, and that is my MOST favorite color. Dop dead gorgeous! Every October they have an aussie dog show here. The only dog show they ever have in this town, and I never miss it. I always go down there and watch and drool over those beautiful dogs. Sigh. Excuse me while I wipe my slobber off the computer screen.

Wink What's in a name!!

Her whole registered name is RisingStar's Angelic Aurora. RisingStar is the kennel name. I loved the name Aurora...we picked it out way ahead of time. I actually got it from Sleeping Beauty....Princess Aurora! I just think the name is SO pretty. I looked up what Aurora meant, it means morning...and then I thought...lets go with a name that means beautiful morning! So I used the thesaurus and looked up beautiful...and there was angelic. So that's how I came up with the whole name. Then the breeder went with the whole angel theme and named the pup they kept RisingStar's Wings of Angels (her call name is Lila) We usually don't call Aurora, Aurora. I call her Rory for short, my husband usually calls her Rora.

She is beautifull We was struggle for a while, whether we should get a blue merle or black tri. Well, We got Banjo, I love him to death. But sometimes I wish I 've got a blue merle ( don't let Banjo know it ).

Well when we went to visit the pups at 6 weeks...we had two favorites. A red tri and a blue merle. My husband was all about the blue merle. When the breeder had pictures posted on the website I had my mom look at the pictures to be the final vote as to which puppy. She said blue merle all the way. It's a good thing we picked the blue too. The red tri girl ended up being a handful of dog! She does what she wants when she wants. The breeder didn't like her 'tude. She ended up the stud owner's pick...cause he kept putting off his choice. He didn't keep the pup...ended up selling her to people in another state.

Oh and the stud owner looked and Aurora...decided not her because she didn't have a blaze...give me a break. Now he's sorry he didn't choose her! The breeder seems to think that Aurora ended up being the pick of the litter at this point!

One of the things we like best about Aussies is that no two look alike! We also had a tough time trying to decide which color to pick from the litter. My husband was set on getting a Black Tri - but there was also a beautiful Red Merle with green eyes that I just couldn't stop thinking about. We compromised and I got to pick which of the Black Tri pups we would take. If we ever have room for a second dog it will be a Blue Merle - if it's a female, her name will have to be Nora.

Wow So many, are you a breeder ? Mine was imported from Australia. If I have the time, space and money, I would love to have one of each colour

Imported from Australia? Australian Shepherds are an american breed. They didn't originally come from Australia. Seems strange to IMPORT one...since the orginal lines started in the States.
