Hello everybody, just visited this Forum for the first time and I see a lot of interesting thing passing by
![]() I'm Dutch and live in Belgium we own and breed White Shepherds. this breed is acknowlegded in Europe by the FCI as White Swiss Shepherd dog ( Berger Blanc Suisse) since 2003. This means it is a breed apart and it is not allowed to mix them with German Shepherds. The White german shepherds in USA or Canada are just the same as we have ( White Swiss Shepherds) if they are bred white to white. It is absolutly not an albino, it has to have dark nails, eyes, lips, nose ears etc. as dark as possible see for more information: http://www.awsaclub.com/ hope everything is clear now. Kind regards, Naiomi Jansen |

Also I think the American bred dogs are much finer boned--they don't have the substance it would take to really work. I am a fan of the German working lines, I don't even care for the German show lines. I had an American CH bred female once--she was beautiful--the light was on but noone was home. I have been in the world of GSDs since 1982 and it took a long time to get it all straight. Now I can look at a dog and practically tell you where he is from. I personally think the East German and the Holland dogs are the most beautiful. Minta

Hopsalot,
Hi and welcome, Silver is another way of describing faded tan. So I guess if they are describing it as a silver point/tip they are saying that it's not excessively faded. Although faded tan (silver) is an allowed color it isn't recommended, reputable breeders will try to breed it out of them. I hope this answers your question and you have a lot of fun with your new puppy. |

I have one almost four-month-old GSD named Gunnar. He has a black "blanket" and the rest of his markings are red. This is my first time with this breed and so far I am way impressed. He is just so willing to learn and work, it's great!

Hi
i am new here but I have apurebred German sheperd, out of West germany, Koer und Leistungszucht... didn't do much in schutzhund yet, had other goals but still not not interested in it, she likes it, and so we may end up doing our Schutzund ! Well the white GSDs aren't aknowledged by the SV, they just accept white pigments at the chest if small. The White GSD is found under Swiss GSD... the show GSDs a preferably found as "pets" i do not know how else to put it... The working lines need work to be happy, the showlines are more the familydog for house and garden and sundaywalks, to put it in an extreme... I was thinkin, everybody uses the term German GSDs or American GSDs, maybe they should officially rename them to american GSDs I know they did it with a different breed, just put an american in front of it... Would work for me... LG Kat |
