Pouncing Behavior at Dog Park

Princess is our 8 month old Collie mix. We think mixed with Australian Sheppard.
We are new to dog owning and this forum!

We have recentally started taking our pooch to the dog park. We scouted them out and found a really good one. She loves it and is very friendly with other dogs and with humans.

We noticed that she does this pouncing behavior. I just wanted to see what people thought about it. LOL. I really don't know much about dogs and I thought this was cute yet a bit odd.

What she does when she sees a dog is lays down with her ears perched. She will either wait for that dog to run and then pounce up and chase the dog (BTW seems to be the only game she likes at the dog park - chase although she did find one dog she was willing to just play with). Or she will wait for a dog to approach her then she'll pounce up really quickly. I'm surprised the other dogs don't get scared, lol, but they seem fine with it. I haven't seen any other dogs do this. What do you think? Typical dog behavior? Really I'm spanking new at this.

Our Princess is a cutie!

Sounds completely normal play to me. My dogs will do it too, but it's normally followed by a stair down while one is crouched on the ground with their ears back. Then all of a sudden... BAM one of them jumps and they're running like mad-idiots! lol

Ask any questions you have, we're here to answer!

That does sound like what she does. A pounce and then she wants to run like mad crazy. Haha.
Thanx for the feedback.
