Okay since we are on the subject of Cattle Dogs and you all seem well educated about them. Can you tell me if you think my Talena has some Red Heeler in her. I know for a fact she is part Husky, but want to know if you all think she might have Heeler in her too. My friend has a Red Heeler and when Talena was growing up they looked so much alike it was crazy. Then Talena out grew my friends dog..lol

my niebors have an australian cattle dog, we didn't even relize that she was learning, but she knows come and sit (mainly). and she's already housebroken, because she's an outside dog, like my great pyrenees. and calie (the dog) is very protective, she bitt my dad one time because she thought he was hurting us! LOL! he was just playing.

I also love this breed. My dad got me into them(same person drover is talking about.) I have 2. My male is very very smart. He loves agility and is my shadow night and day. My female is the show dog in the family and we will be going to our first show with her in march.

Hello
Just joined this site after finding a mention of it on the Aucado site. As for ACDs and children - I have been breeding for a few years and have to admit that most of my pups have gone to families that have children, other dogs, birds, livestock, etc. Believe it or not I actually have some dogs that are something of a couch potato and then some that would drive those not familiar with the breed up the wall they are so active. I live with 10 cattle dogs and find them to be one of the more intelligent and family devoted breeds. BUT you have to like a velcro dog and be willing to give up ever going into the batroom alone again Lynda |
