I can't post kennel websites on the forum but I've PM'd you a few. They're beautiful little dogs. I hope they manage to make it to Australia at some point.

Ohhhhhh I just love Silkens! We've been keeping an eye on several breeders and hope to have a SW one day. Hopefully they'll become a recognized breed so they are eligible for ASFA and AKC lure coursing!

I don't think they'll have too much trouble becoming a recognised breed, the people involved in their development seem to be going about things the right way.
It's a nice change to be honest.Cass. |

I fell in love with Silken Windhounds in 2004 after seeing the breed club's full-page ad in Dog World magazine. Nearly 3 years later now, I'm finally on the waiting list for my own baby Silken boy
Since I guess we're not supposed to post links to kennels, I will PM the link to you. Here are the albums of photos I've taken of various Silken Windhounds I've met over the past 2 1/2 years.http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/lemurlover.geo/my_photos The FCI (Europe's dog registry) has already expressed an unsolicited desire to recognize Silken Windhounds, however FCI rules are that a breed must first be recognized by the registry of it's country of origin (AKC). AKC requires that breeds be established for 10 years prior to applying for recognition. The Silken Windhound stud book was closed in 2000, so they will be eligible to apply to the AKC in 2010 which is only 3 years away. I can send tons of Silken Windhound links to anyone who wants them, just let me know ![]() |
