Smile Dachshunds aka Doxies aka Weiner Dogs

Who here own theses? I own one, just I recently just got a couple of weeks ago. Her name is Princess. I'm thinking she's a mini, since the people I got her from say she's about a year old, and she is pretty tiny. Much smaller than my neighbor's doxies who are standard size, almost reaching up to my bichon frise, Pepe. But Princess is even smaller than my dog Didi, who's a rat terrier, and she's really small!! Here's a picture of her.

Hi, I have a mini doxie! He just turned a year old and weighs right at 10 pounds. How much does she weigh? Since I got him neutered he has become lazy and would eat all day if I'd let him so he is getting a little chubby. I've had to cut his food back a little and increase the exercise! You really have to keep a watch on their weight due to curving of the spine, which will cause it to become weak and lead to serious problems. When I saw her pic I thought maybe 6 months old tops, man is she tiny! Is she a pure-bred? The ears kind of throw me off. Being a doxie I bet her favorite thing to do is cuddle, cuddle, cuddle! If I sit down mine is right in my lap and has to be in between my husband and I under the covers at night. She sure does look like a "Princess"! Have fun with your new baby!

Thanks for your input Milo's a doll!!

So you don't think she's reached her maxed height yet? I really like her at this size, my neighbor had standard size doxies, but I just want her to stand out from those two terrors!! They have a real bad rep around this neighborhood They're usually roaming the streets going after people. They're really bad owners, the first doxie they had since they've moved here got killed by a car, but yet they still let two roam free. And one's preggers from who knows how many times before. Real bad bybs, they had 13 doxies taken off their premises before, since the limit here is 4. I haven't gotten her weighed in yet, but she's lighter than my rat terrier who's 6-7lbs. Never though she could be a mix? The people who had her said she was pure. Right now we're not feeding them the best quality of dog food. But after Didi has her sugery I want to start them on Innova Evo Red Meat Dry Kibble. But her weight for her size is good. Her ribs aren't showing, but neither can't you not feel them. I've never had a weight problem with any of my dogs, so I don't think her weight will be a problem. Since they don't get overfed/underfed and are well exercised.

Here's some more pictures & videos to have an estimated guess if she's going to be a mini or standard size and the size difference between her and my dogs. Standing up she's smaller than Didi.

I never seen such large ears on a doxie, whenever she's looking up they just become JUMBO. And I thought Didi's ears were big! Aye chihuahua!! But I don't think that would make her a mix? I just think God made her special, but hey who knows. I'm no expert

I have one, and he's about 15 or so pounds. He's actually supposed to be a mini. But he's closer to standard size. I believe the cutoff for mini is 10 or 11 lbs. He's a pure doxie, just big for his breed. According to different doxie sites, they are affectionately known as "tweenies" and cannot compete in any shows, for obvious reasons.

I too am a Doxie owner / lover. My Sandy Jo is a Mini Doxie. She's pretty petite. I've had my Sandy Jo since she was a wee pup, now she's turning 9 in December. So nice to see some other Doxie owners.
