My fosters!

I haven't posted in over a week or two now...been busy.I had two fosters really close to each other and then my daughter was sick, plus I had to take in a few more animals (rats, hamster and guinea pig) - but thats another story.

I just had two fosters...one right after the other.

My first was a 5 yr old beagle named Pepper. She was cute, but had seperation anxiety. She didn't do too much damage, but she did pee and poop in the house and got into the garbage (only once tho!).She was really cuddly and liked to be as close to me as possible. She also slept with me at night. She was actually a house pet for 5 yrs,but the people who owned her had a baby and then surrendered her to Beagle Paws.Anyway she was adopted just the other night (22nd).

The very next day after Pepper was adopted,I was brought another foster dog and I currently have him.Beagle Paws are really in need of foster homes at the moment as hunting season is just ending and people are abandoning the dogs all over the place!

Anyway my current foster is a male named Andy.He is about 5-6 yrs old and super laid back and mellow. The only time he gets excited is when it is walk time or when I am doing something with my rodents, like feed them or whatever! And when he sees another dog, even tho he does not get along with other dogs.Anyway in the house he is really mellow and lazy! He is pretty good for an ex-hunter.He is quiet too, only barks at other dogs outside. He loves attention, but is not cuddly and does not mind being in a seperate room from me.

He isn't neutered yet,he goes to get neutered the first week in December and he also may have worms.

This is the first time ever I had fosters so close to each other.Normally it is a week or months between fosters,so it was a little hectic!!

Anyway I will post pictures of both Pepper and Andy in the pic section of the forum!!

I have been busy with the fostering...thats why I haven't been on once again in sometime.

I now currently have another foster...a 5 yr old beagle named Bambi.I am going to post pics a little later. She is really sweet and laid back. The kittens are all over her and she just either stands there and takes it or walks away and she is super gentle with my 3 yr old.She will make a nice family dog for someone. If I was going to adopt,I would definatly adopt her! But I am not ready for full time commitment yet...altho these past months,I have full time commitment, because I been taking foster dogs in right after eachother!

Anyway just wanted to update.

Bambi sounds like such a great dog! By the sounds of it Im sure she'll be snapped up by someone fast. On average, how many fosters do you take in each week?

It really depends on how long I have them.I had a little one named Patti for 4 days and the night she was adopted,I took in another named Abby...so that was 2 in one week. But it really depends. My longest foster was 5-6 months and my shortest was 4 days.

Bambi is a really nice dog.She is passed out on the couch now.
She is on meds for her heart, but because of her temperment and cuteness...she will probably be adopted in no time!

So I still have Bambi.
My other foster Hogan was adopted last week to a family in BC.Well Bambi obviously bonded with him and since he left, she has been more whiney and also started peeing in the house again. She was houstrained! But were working on it.

I just realized I never mentioned Hogan in this thread. But some of you know I had him as well as Bambi, cause I had some pics up of them.

I decided (whether people read this or not) that I will just keep updating about my fosters all in the one thread,so I don't take up space with a bunch of other threads!

It's a shame to hear that Bambi still hasn't found a home, but I'm sure it won't be too long. Yeah, it's hard dealing with a dog when they've had their best friend taken away. I hope you're able to get her seperation issues under control, good luck with that!

Thanks.
We are working on it.She seems to be getting back into the swing of things. She only peed in the house ONCE yesterday while I was getting ready to take her out and no accidents at all today.

She is accepting that Hogan is not coming back.
I am also not gonna take another foster in while I have her again.

So maybe I should of made this a blog...but I never thought of that.

I still have Bambi.Poor dear. She turned out to be pregnant and needed an emergency spay because of her heart. She took it hard.I think she knew she had pups too, because during her healing, she also seemed quite depressed.I am sure she knew.Bambi is back to her self now.

I ended up taking in another foster too...Ricky.He is a 3 yr old beagle and he is the total opposite of Bambi. He is hyper, destructive and playful. He is friendly and sweet and gets into trouble. He is actually being adopted tommorrow morning...flying to BC.I am happy that he has his forever home and also because he hasn't exactly been fitting in with my lifestyle and household. He needs to be with someone all times...or so he thinks and well I go out alot and cannot always take him.He HATES being alone.

Anyway he is going tommorrow morning!

I am starting to get attached to Bambi tho.I am just used to having her around and she is a sweet dog, fits in well here and is laid back, gentle and everything. Also my daughter seems to really like Bambi.

I am foster dogless! The house is so quiet now.

Bambi just went to her new home last night. This is the first time in months that I have had no dog around and it feels odd.I am almost not used to it anymore.
