I put my puppy in my room with me in her kennel. That way I could hear her cry and let her out to potty in the middle of the night. Ear plugs work great when they cry for the first few nights. I also left the t.v. on to the weather channel. It is soft and a constant noise for her and I won't wake up to a car chase or something like that. I put a small stuffed toy in her crate for her to snuggle up to and I slept with her blankie and stuffed animal for a few days first so it would have my scent on it for her.

The first time you get her used to her crate do it slowly. Leave the door open and let her crawl in and out most of the day. You can feed her in it and when she falls asleep put her in it gently with the door open so when she wakes up she can get out on her own. Toss a few treats in there from time to time and let her go in to get them.

She will probably cry a lot for the first few nights. Only take her out to go potty and then put her right back in. Ignore the crying the rest of the time. You don't want to make her think her crying will get you to let her out. This is where the earplugs come in handy. Just be ready for a few sleep deprieved nights. My Bailey cried for 2 nights and was perfect after that.

Well when we brought Dahlila home at 9 wks old I had this old stuffed animal on the couch and I had her on the couch with me and she went over and snuggled with Fluffy(stuffed animal) cuz she thought it was her mother so we let her sleep with it but then she figured out it wasn't even real she also took over 1 of my slippers as a puppy see pic below...
