Homework help-Greyhound racing

Ok im currently enrolled in English and we have to do essays on what ever. The first essay i did about the greyhound itself then the second one i want to do about the racing greyhound or greyhound racing but i dont know what to write about. i want it to stand out. i dont want it to look like i copied and paste random stuff off the internet or something.
So basically im asking for ideas to write about. Like, maybe, what people think about it or in the life of, or....Something.
Please help!

Well, I think to give a fair accounting of greyhound racing you have to start with the premise that there are two sides to it. The greyhound world is split between those that support racing and those that would like to see it go away. I think to get a boatload of each groups position on the subject you can start by pouring through the information on two websites and draw your own conclusions, in your own words. They are: Greyhound Racing Association and the Greyhound Protection League.
You may also want to do a poll of non-greyhound pet lovers as to what their impression of racing is. It might give you a snapshot of what the public in general thinks about it. Asking greyhound people alone will only give you the very biased opinions, since feelings on this subject run very deep. Good Luck.

Hounddog made some great suggestions. You can also do some research on life in a kennel; perhaps the life of a brood mama. Or the future of racing; whether it is on the way becoming obsolete.

At the GRA they have a link of farm life that goes fromm the brood mom to retirementit gave alot of info which would make the assignment easier but i found websites that talk about what bad stuff happens to Greys and then sites that have good stuff about them. Which is what i want to learn about. So i guess its still a hard decision and thanks for the input its a help.

I also suggest using the National Greyhound Association as a reference since this is the national registry for racing Greys. Racing is a very serious issue for all of us and Greyhound people, especially ex-racer owners, are very opinionated on this subject. A good topic to bring up is the ever increasing adoption rates and how we still need more and more adopters. Despite our position on the subject of racing, we all agree on the importance of the promotion of Greyhound adoption. Good luck on your essay, and, hopefully, maybe you'll inspire one or two people to adopt their own greythound

It been really hard to decide on a topic because i am so opinionated about but i still am unsure what to think of but i know i am definately going to squeeze in something about how important adopting greys are. event hough the teacher is going to be the only one reading it i know she is a dog lover and will tell her friend dog lovers about something facinating i may have wrote about. when i wrote about the breed its self she remember i wrote that at the end of the hunting season in spain they get hung. it due about tuesday wednesday ill tell you what i finally desided.

I was wondering what all of you think about the racing the greyhound breed. If you have any specific reasons for your beliefs feel free to post. This is not inteaded to become any kind of debate. Thank you.

I am against it. Greyhounds are the only breed I am aware of that are for the most part a captive of the racing industry. Breed lines are totally controlled for the purpose of producing racing stock.
While there has been marked improvement in the welfare and adoption rates within the US over the past decade, the same can't be said for the rest of the world and there has been an effort to foster and export racing into third world countries. Greyhound racing in countries such as Viet Nam, China, South Africa and the Caribbean nations, to name just a few, will set back any gains made here in the US and put countless numbers of greys in danger.

Marley ~ I've merged both of your threads on the racing together since both have the same purpose.
