Reputation

Above every post, there is an icon that looks like a white scale. Clicking on this will allow you to add or take away from a person's reputation. If someone posts a great idea, or something you think deserves recognition, give them good reputation, and if someone if posting rude of worthless comments, give them bad reputation.

The little green gem next to your name is your current reputation. As it increases, it will change colors, as it decreases, it will become translucent.

You can see how much reputation you have gotten by clicking on the "user cp" link on the main header.

well, the rep system is based off of numbers that you all don't see. If you want, I could tell you how far you are from the next level.

yikes! this is a cool feature. but i guess you have to be trusting of the members. i know in many forums...this would be a bad thing! lol due to heated topics and just people that you simply cant trust...this would become member suicide! *rubs hand together...now i can control their fate* hehe just kidding!!

You are at rep level 200, you need 50 points more to get to the next level.

I normal user that adds to your rep is 10 points, a mod is 15, and an admin is 25.

I "think" that might be one of the older things that they have updated. I'm not for sure though b/c I'm pretty new here. I think so b/c now it's "power" and if I remember reading correctly, it used to be "reputation". I could be way off- someone, I'm sure, will let us know 100% though. I was wondering the same thing about your other post though. AS far as trying to nominate someone for a good post. I thought it was the nominate now, but the one time I did that I later realized it was for a monthly contest of some sort. Anway... I'm sure we will find out soon. Thanks for bringing it up.

Okay. My question was answered in the "Puppy Points Explained" thread. I tried it and it worked! I like the box provided for a comment to the recipient, too. Cool.

You can see your "rep level" by hovering your pointer over your green reputation bar.

The more you post the more your reputation goes up, it will also increase as other members give you "Puppy Points" if they feel that you've made a great contribution to the forum within a post or something of that nature.
