Hello to all!

Hello to all in the GlobalPaw. I look forward to getting to know you.

I'm the mother to 2 wonderful canines (Hank & Montana), 1 feline(Missy) and 1 baby girl (Samantha). We are thinking of expanding on the canine end of the family but are undecided on breed at the moment. We live in central CA south of San Fran.

I'm interested in nutrition, alternatives to vaccination, homeopathy, and natural vet med. I like SCUBA, fly fishing, skiing & hiking but since the baby, I haven't had much time for my "old" hobbies since my new one is taking care of her.

Oh, "dogs4life" refers to the fact that dogs have always been in my life and hope they will continue to be a part of our family. In fact, while in college I used to dog sit because I couldn't afford a dog. I'm just a sucker!!

Hi Kendra and welcome to GP. What are Hank and Montana's breed? I have two Yorkie girls, Zada, who will be 1 year on the 5th of Dec. and Azrael who will be 1 year 16th of Jan. I have a Chihuahua named Delsi who will be 14 on the 11th of Dec.. I also live on the central coast of CA. in Lompoc, which is 50 miles north of Santa Barbara. I have a son in San Francisco and one in Morgan Hill. Would be nice to meet you over lunch when we come up that way next month. So far there are 9 of us who live in CA. and I was thinking how nice it would be if we could pull off a get together.

That's right, I forgot to introduce the dogs.
Montana, 13+yr mixed breed female (some guess pit/chow, kelpie/hound, terrier/hound) but we will never know since she is a rescue from the pound. She loves to run, dig and take up all the room on the bed. She has recurrent benign tumors all over her body, mostly on her belly, but recently she has developed a large tumor on her front leg. We assume lipoma but will soon get an aspirate to determine the nature since it is growing now.
Hank, 3 yr male toy Chihuahua who was rescued from relatives whom litterally dropped him on his head, poor little guy. But he is the sweetest dog you will ever meet, it's as if he's the Chihuahua ambassador to the world with his happy disposition. He was likely a product of irresponsible breeding since he has severe patellar luxation. We are now looking at non-surgical treatments and surgical treatments.
