Lightbulb Im new here!!!!!!!!!
HellO! Im new here, Im on my never ending search for a yorkie, here in ohio they are really sought after. In the meantime, I have two Walker coonhounds, and recently got a beagle puppy, I noticed last night that my puppy has FIVE toes on her back paws?! Theres no bone in the fifth toes, they are kinda like false dew claws on her back paws. Anyone have any experience with that?!

No havent had the vet look at them yet. She was just given to us about 3 days ago Id say. Thats the strangest genetic mutation IVE ever seen though. Toenails and all, but no bone in them. So weird!

Are you talking about a dewclaw but on the back feet? If so some dogs do end up with dewclaws on their back, just like the front. I have even seen some have double dewclaws on the back. just make sure you keep them short because they can tend to curl into the dog and cause discomfort/pain.

Hello and welcome. My dog has two toenails growing out of his toenail. He has 5 as well you are probally just seeing the dew-claw. I told my vet about them and he said he could remove them OR I could come in every 2 months and get them trimmed.

Yup thats what I said dewclaws. On her back feet. So strange. they have no bones in them, but they have toenails on them.

Welcome to the forums! We had a pit that had the same on the back paws. They didn't cause any problems. Just keep them trimmed.
