Welcome to the forums!
You don't 'persuade' a dog to stop biting you. Period. You INSIST that he stop biting you, and offer him a chew toy as an alternative. Just make an 'absolutely NO biting me' rule, which means no biting me, EVER (no rough play, obviously) and stick to it. Give him an 'ah-ah-ah' or YIPE very loudly if he bites you, and when he stops, give him quick verbal praise and offer a toy. If he is insistent that biting you is more fun, and you have tried all the best toys, then a mild leash correction might be necessary, but right now just work on being in charge and enforcing your rule. ![]() |
