Greetings from Maryland

Hello everyone! I'm a proud mommy of Mufasa, a 1 yr old Red Pomeranian. I got him a bout a year ago, when he was 3 months old, and I have LOVED him from day 1. My boyfriend loves him too, we spoiled him rotten! Mufasa has a "sister", my cat Krush, and they get along great. They share some of the same toys. Mufasa has a outdoor play pal too, my sisters German Shepherd, Nicholas. Those two are perfect together. Nicholas is what you would call "dumb blonde" in the doggy world. He's a smart dog, but just a complete air head. We love him too. Those two play together ALL day in the yard, and sometimes I see Nicholas lay down and Mufasa lays right next to him, like they are protecting each other. It's cute.

Currently, Mufasa is my "father-in-laws(boyfriends dad)" "lap dog" and we have been on the hunt to find a companion for his dad. I had a lead on a puppy yesterday, but they gave them away after they had JUST told me about them, and I told them I wanted the boy pup, but too late. So now, the search is on again. Mufasa will continue to get spoiled by his grandpa, but then Matt and I have no one to fuss over.

I'm looking forward to meeting and speaking with all of you. Thanks for welcoming me to your group.

Welcome to GP. Does your father-in-law have a computer? If so, have him log onto petfinder.com to look at dogs needing rescue. He can type in the breed he is looking for and the state.

Many wonderful dogs are found this way. However, he will have to do the adoption himself. Very few people are comfortable adopting, selling, or giving dogs to someone for someone else (like for a gift). Our rescue won't do it either as there is no proof the recipient wants a dog.

But have him check into it. I just helped a girl find a hound dog yesterday on that site.

Looking forward to hearing more about your dog. I hope you enjoy the forum.

Hi and welcome to Global Paw!

Pomeranians are cute dogs! I used to have to look after our neighbour's pom sometimes.
Good luck with finding a new dog, I hope it all goes well for you.

Unfortunately, my father-in-law isn't technology friendly, AT ALL!! He is in his 60's, and was raised on a farm, and worked on the farm all his life, besides doing the Fire Fighter thing for a little while. I have told my mother-in-law that I would be taking her with me when we do the adoption, as it would be both of their dogs, but a companion for him during the day while she works. I took Mufasa over there last night (my boyfriend had to help "dad" with some stuff) and my father-in-law was like "The work can wait, Mufasa's here!" It's the cutest thing in the world, those two. Eddie (father-in-law) likes to take Mufasa for a ride on his 4-Wheeler, and Mufasa stays right there in his lap (I tie Mufasa to Eddie, even though they go really slow anyway), and Eddie loves it! If I could, I'd leave Mufasa with Eddie during the day while I work, but it's out of the way for me to take Mufasa there every day before I leave.

I think Eddie likes Mufasa because of his size, it's small enough to crawl into bed with him, sit on his lap in his chair, and "ride the 4 wheeler". Whatever dog we get, it's gonna be a smaller dog, I know that much. I just hope I can find something soon, I'm anxious!! And I know my in-laws are too! Especially "mom"!!
