I'm a newbie!
Hi, all! I'm a major dog lover living in Evansville, IN. I currently have a 10 yr female Aussie Shep/Border Collie mix, a 7 yr male full Border, and a 2 yr male mini dauchsand. They are all good health but now that my "first born" is getting up in years I thought it would be good to learn more about what to expect.

Welcome to GP!
There are many here who will be able to give you some great advice and a shoulder to lean on should times ahead get tough with your aging pup. I too have a 10 year old however you would never know it. He moves around like a 2 year old. I keep waiting for him to slow down however happily he has not and shows no signs of it. |

Hello and a big welcome to you and your fur-kids. I have a 14 year old chihuahua who is blind, but she still walks all over the house looking like a little bumper car. I suppose if your baby stays healthy, then the signs would be some grey hair around the muzzle, slowing down, napping more often.........you know, kind of like us old people.
You will know when the normal signs change. |

Welcome to Global Paw!
I'm another member who has an elderly dog. My Chihuahua is 16 this year and although he's had some health problems (heart murmur & dementia) he's still going strong. It is a heart breaking time for us dog people though. Cass. |
