Hello everyone!

I heard about this site from doozyDog and checked it out yesterday. Looks like a great place to hang out!

I have a Golden Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix (Max who is 5) and an English Bulldog (Georgia who is almost 4).

My husband and I are members of the Bulldog Club of America and the Bulldog Club of Metro Atlanta. We showed Georgia for the first year. Now she is just our lap dog!

We have a daughter, Carlie who just turned 16 months old and a second daughter on the way (due in about 7 weeks).

I look forward to getting to know everyone!

Hi Diane, welcome to Global Paw! My name's Erin and I'm from Australia.

Both of your dogs sound really lovely (I love the photo of Georgia you have as your avatar! ). How did she go in the show ring? I have two dogs as well - Harley (in my avatar) and Abby (in my signature).

Thank you Erin.

Georgia didn't do so well -- she's a bit too tall and thin to Champion out. One of my bulldog club friends (Hall of Fame Breeder/Bulldog Judge) told us that she has good genes and could produce some great Champion pups if bred with the right male. Once we're done "breeding me" we would like to have at least 1 litter with Georgia.

Your dogs are so cute. I've never met a dog I've not fallen in love with!

Hi and welcome to GP! You are going to be busy with a 16 mnth old and one on the way I have a 4 year old daughter aren't they fun! Just a question, if Georgia is to tall and thin for a bulldog and wasn't showing well then why breed her at all if she is not within the standard ? Maybe spaying her and just being a pet is better suited for her

Thanks for the welcome.

The Bulldog Breeder friend of ours said that she has some great features and that with a short stocky male we would very likely get a good pup for showing.

We are not sure if we are going this route or not yet. As you mentioned, with 2 girls under 2 I will have my hands full for a while.

We may just end up with another bullie puppy at some time that comes from a better breeder/better line and try to show that one.

If we decide to breed Georgia, we will get specific with Rosemary and have her help us find the right male. We'd never do it without her help.

Ahh, that's a shame! But it must have been a great experience for you and her. I've always wanted to try my hand at showing dogs but it looks very stressfull! If you plan to breed Georgia I hope everything goes really well for you.

Thanks! Harley's a Jack Russell Terrier x Maltese (10 1/2 years old), and Abby is obviously a Chihuahua (she'll be 6 years old in about 6 days).
