In a nutshell!
Hi! I have been adding my two cents in on some of the forums so I figured it was time to introduce myself. My name is Sarah and I am the proud owner of what has now become three dogs. I used to have four , but we were having some struggling for rank between my Rotweiler Tyler(8), and my Boxer Bailey(7). Now Tyler is living with my sister and her two cats. Don't worry, he is happier there with her. He gets to be an only dog and I think that he has secretly liked her more than me all along! It was a very sad transistion for me, but I know deep down that it was the best decision for us all.
The others from my clan are a six year old Jack Russell Terrier named Logan and a three year old boxer/lab mix name Kiera. I managed to aquire Logan through a pet sitting job where the owner never came to pick him up. I have had him since he was twelve weeks old and he no doubt is the love of my life. My very own "little dog". He goes to work with me at the barn so he can he can hunt all of rodents. Sadly he was diagnosed with addisons disease about a year ago. Most of the time he does great with the medication and as little stress as possible, but sometimes he has a rough day now and then ![]() Now to my white dog Kiera. She was a foster that I have had for a little over two years. She had an unfortunate puppyhood and had two litters of puppies by the time she was fifteen months old. We were her fourth home and we were with her when she had her last litter of puppies. I fell in love with her great disposition and decided that I wanted to be her forever home (well to be honest, it was her lack of finding a home for over a year that helped to seal the deal She has ended up to be a really sweet girl that has a slight fettish for my kitties, Madeline, Oliver, and Henry- they're all another story!I worked as a vet tech for several years and ended up fostering some othe dogs that have found great homes. Well there's a start on my life with my dogs. I'm sure I'll have some other stories to share! Still trying to find some pictures of Logan. Can't find them on my computer! ![]() Bailey ![]() Kiera ![]() Spanky( one of my old foster puppies) ![]() Toby(Spanky's brother) ![]() Tyler |

Welcome aboard! I'm glad you were able to place your rottweiler in a good home. We actually had to do the same with our rottweiler. She too was struggling in ranking between our Siberian Denali -- she's now an only dog with a really good friend of ours. She's much happier being able to get all of the attention!
I am owned by 3 Siberian huskies and a GSD/Rottie mix I hope you enjoy your stay! Your furbabies are bootiful! ![]() |

Thank you so much for your warm welcomes! I was glad to hear that another fellow rottie owner had the same problem. I felt like I was a failure as an owner when I "gave up" on him, but I know that in the end it was right. He is just such a good dog as long as Bailey isn't around.

We had tried doing NILIF with her, and everything else, but as she got older it just became worse. You can definetly tell there is some tension between the two when they are around eachother after being separated. They tolerate eachother for visits, but there would be no way they could live together in peace anymore.
You weren't a failure. You made the very best possible decision. We had tried rehoming her once before, and that fell through -- the trainer tried to keep her even though we were under the agreement that she was to be returned to us. She said "I think it's best she stay here so she can be placed in the 'proper home'" That was all we needed to hear.. we left the very next day to get her. Our friend had been wanting a dog, and fell in love with her. So for a few months they had visits, and finally took her when they moved into their house. She's a spoiled girl now. She's just like your rottie. She's an awesome, well behaved dog as long as Denali or any other female dog was not around. She's dog friendly but gets nervous with other dogs around (pants constantly and very heavily). Our friend's aunt lives with them and will be getting a puppy soon -- going to see how that blows over. |

Nice to hear from all of you! I don't have Spanky or Toby anymore as they found homes. They orginally came from a litter of five puppies and they were the only survivors from parvo. They were wonderful puppies and I'm sure grew up to be great "big" dogs. So for now I'm down to three dogs and three cats until something else comes my way looking for a home
