Jake and Peanut.
Hi there.
I've introduced myself already, I thought it would be fitting to properly introduce my dogs, as well. (For those of you I recognize form other sites, who may have seen/hear about my dogs a zillion times already... I apologize. )Here goes.... JAKE is my 12 year old adopted Springer Spaniel. Before being rescued, he had been through hell... abused and neglected. He is a 'special needs' dog who will be on medication all his life for various conditions. Then there are the conditions we can do nothing about, like his deafness. When I first visited him at his foster home, he was only partially covered in fur; with warts; scabs; a 5 inch scar on his hind area; droopy, red eyes; and all kinds of nasties. He looked so pathetic. I immediately fell in love. An hour later, as I left to 'think it over' as suggested to me by the foster mom (apparently, he had been adopted out once before, then returned!), I had already decided I wanted him. That moment, he followed me off the porch and waited to get into my car. Something he hadn't done for ANY other visitor. He hasn't left my side since then. He is a once in a lifetime kind of pet. I love him with all my heart. PEANUT came into our lives because my boyfriend was jealous that Jake was so devoted to me. We took Jake to visit her before making our final decision, and they clicked. Whoever said Saints are calm, easy going, dogs never met my Peanut. She'd shatter the stereotype. Peanut is an absolute spitfire, and a little sweetheart, rolled into one. She's schizo!!!! Outside, she'll zip and zing, back and forth, all over the place, for no apparent reason... but she'll take a few seconds to excuse herself to the side of the path to poo! I have never met a dog with more energy to spare. Or more love. She's a goofy, crazy, darling of a girl. Here's some pictures! Jake's first picture ever in his forever home. ![]() Jake now, doing what he does best. ![]() Peanut as a puppy (2 months old). ![]() Peanut at 6 months old. ![]() Thanks for letting me share! |

Yay... it's so nice to hear someone point out Jake before Peanut. He doesn't get as much attention from people as Peanut does. It's hard for the old man to compete with her puppy-ness. But I love him to death.
Springers are my favorite breed. ![]() |
