Buying a Husky...

I am going to buy a Husky soon a boy that is and the one I want is 6 months old. Is that a ok age to buy? Also the eyes are different colors one is light blue and one is dark blue. Is this a good sign or just the way his parents made him?? The price is 450.00 should I buy it?

First off, Welcome!!

About the Husky: that age is fine to get a pup. Just like you can adopt 10yr old dogs and it doesn't make a difference. Huskies can have different colored eyes. One brown, the other blue, etc. And 4.50$ is fine too, but are you buying from a PetStore? If so, please post pone your buy. Don't buy from a PetStore. And I am trusting that you really want a Husky and can deal with all of their exercise requirments, stubborness and preydrive?
Sorry if I offended you with all of the questions (I didn't try, really ) but Huskies can be a challange to own and I want to make sure that the puppy you get will have the best of life!

Merry Christmas and Welcome!!

For an older pup, in addition to where you buy from, I think it's kind of important to know how he was handled. There's nothing wrong with asking the person you're buyng from a few questions about how the puppy was raised and trained so far. Is he house trained? Is he used to being around all kinds of people...young, old, men, women, strangers, light, dark? Is he used to all kinds of experiences...walking on the leash, cars, bicycles, cats, dogs, garbage trucks, etal.?
BTW, Ritz is right. Plan on doing a lot of aerobic exercise to keep him happy, healthy and out of trouble. There are a few Sibe owners here that I'm sure will have more tips for you.

Hello and welcome! Congrats on your choice of a Husky, they're a great breed IF you are fully prepared for one. A lot of people fall intoa trap by buying one just because they look gorgeous, however those looks are quite decieving! These guys are stubborn, hard-headed, independent, strong-willed, highly prey-driven (which without proper socialization can be shown on small dogs and even children) and require a LOT of excercise! They aren't a good breed for the first time dog owner because they are also very dominant.

If you do feel you're ready for a HUsky and are willing to commit all the time that training will require as well as socialization and excercise, then I would go ahead and buy the pup so long as it isn't from a backyard breeder, puppy mill, puppy exchanger, or pet store. It should be from a responsible breeder, shelter, or perhaps a family who can no longer care for their beloved pup (but if that's the case it is crucial you find out where the puppy came from, if it came from a pet store, or one of the other places i mentioned in that group then be prepared for a lot of behavioural issues and expensive vet bills due to hereditary health problems).

Cheers!

Oh ya and as for the eyes, that's very very common in HUskies. My own Husky has an eye that's 1/2 blue and 1/2 brown and the other eye is brown. His pulling partner ronin has an eye that's 1/2green and 1/2 hazel and the other eye is green.

Cheers!

Husky's are wonderful dogs, but as others mentioned be prepared. Husky's are very dominant over smaller animals. If you have a cat or small dog I wouldn't recommend getting an older pup.
