People call me Babygirl. I have a sweet little terrier mix he is blonde in hair color, just like me. He is 9 months old and he has 3 paws. His mother accidently chewed one of his paws off when she was trying to get him out of his sack when he was born. I named him "Hercules" he weighs 5 lbs. and he runs as fast as a bolt of lightning. So this paw thing has not kept him down in any way. But he gets this gooey stuff in the hair around his eyes. I wash it out everyday. He lets that happen too. I think he likes the warm cloth on his eyes. This doesn't mean he has been crying does it? I don't know why he would cry. He goes everywhere with me and we play all the time. But I don't want him to be sad and crying. Or maybe his eyes water because of all the hair around them maybe the hair irritates them. Any suggestions. Thanx a bunch to all........Have a fantastic day!

Hi, welcome to Global Paw!
![]() It sounds like your dog's a little trooper. Some dogs are just prone to tear stains. It doesn't mean that they're crying - it's sometimes caused by irritation or eyes that just naturally water a lot. |

Welcome to Global Paw!
![]() Yep, it sounds like he's got tear stains. That doesn't relate to crying...dogs can't cry like humans. However their eyes do water and that can sometimes cause tear stains. Just keep wiping the area clean. Cass. |

Welcome! The tear stains are no big problem but I would talk to the vet when he goes in for a checkup. He can give you advice and most likely drops to help this problem.

If it is gooey and yellow or green in color at the corner of his eyes it could be an eye infection. Tear stains turn the hair color darker under the eyes and are nothing to worry about. Has this always happened since he was a baby or has this just started? My dachshund, Lucy, has tear ducts that just don't work very well. Her eyes water a lot, even though she has smooth hair around her eyes. I also take a warm wash cloth and wipe her eyes. She likes it just like Hercules.
