Hello everyone,
I live in the sleepy little town of Loveland CO. I adopted a 1.5 year old mini dachund. The family that had him fed him dry cat food . I have had him 1 week. He only nibbles at the kibble. He does not know and turns his nose up at wet food. I would like to change all the boys food. I would like to make there food. Please give advice and some good healthy recipes. Paws 4 |

Welcome aboard! You should be able to get some good help on here! Calgal cooks for her girls, and has for many years. I'm sure she'd be more than willing to help you

Hi, welcome to Global Paw!
![]() I love the name of your town, it's so funny (in a good way)! We have a recipes section here that has quite a few good suggestions, so it'd be worth having a browse around. |

I have been feeding real food to all my dogs and all my foster dogs for 50 years. I did however try Innova and another I forget the name, some type of Buffalo food that was supposed to be raw, and after just a few month of that, I went back to real food. The dogs started having all sorts of gas, loose stools or tar looking stools, allergies, vomiting, hyperness and so on. WEW!
I'll stick to real so I know exactly what they are eating.I found this recipe in yesterdays newspaper. (there was an article about how people are now cooking for their dogs, and how dog recipe books have become a hot seller). It sounds quite good actually. MUTT MEAT 1/2 pound ground beef 1/3 cup grated cheddar cheese 1 carrot, finely chopped/grated 1/2 cup bread crumbs (unseasoned) 1 egg, whisked 1 teaspoon tomato paste Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine all ingredients in a bowl. Scoop out by the spoonful and roll into mini-sized meatballs. Place the meatballs on a cookie sheet. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. Store in the refrigerator. |
