Wrinkles In The Way
|
Well where do I start--I have been away for quite awhile NOT sure if anyone even remembers me any more LOL--BUT wanted to drop by and say HELLO
So many things have changed since I have been gone--First off after a two year battle with what turned out to be a brain tumor I lost my baby boy Harley a couple weeks ago--after being advised by my vets for years to have him put to sleep and not being able to do it , I finally made the hardest choice of my life to let him go to the bridge because of issues with aggression and temperment changes as well as his seizures that where cont. to get worse.. IT was one of the worst days of my life and I never want to have to do that again Although I know that with owning pets that is part of it UNFORN. Not long before Harley going to the bridge my cat Oliver got out of the house and we have not seen him since SO losing two animals within a couple months of each other really got me down to where I didnt want any more animals--I am still hopeful that Oliver will come back or someone will find him--Unforn. due to what happened and him getting out HE had never been outside before--HE is neutered but not declawed so he does have something to defend himself if needed I guess--I have posters ALL over--notified all shelters and vets etc SO IM still hopeful about him--I have heard stories of pets finding their owners months later SO MAYBE?? Dozer is now over a year old and a bundle of---ummm---BULLDOG --I swear he is never gonna grow up--HE is still chewing things and acting like he is 3 months old LOL--He is now really starting to fill out FINALLY--We did finally have his tail removed since it cont. to get infected--Oh well HE didnt need it anyway--He is a big baby who has all the sudden started to think he is a guard dog or something and barks at everything Although he wont do anything but run or lick you to death LOL---Bulldogs got to love them.... I have finally come around to getting another dog and what breed have I choosen--NONE other then the Boxer--I have found one that I am SUPPOSED to go meet and possible pick up on the 15th--He will be 11 wks old and looks almost JUST like my boy Harley Man--Although NO ONE can ever replace my boy I feel this is best for ME and I just cant imagine life for a very long time with out a boxer in it.. Wish us luck on that--Im excited but nervous too--I dont want the health issues I had with Harley to happen again--BUT the parents have been tested and he has a health guarn. as well.. So I guess I just have to take that chance... Anyway--everyone here is doing pretty good--I hope all is well with everyone else and that all the fur babies are doing well--I do have new pictures of Dozer man I will have to post here soon--Maybe another day for that though.... Cant wait to hear from everyone and again I hope everyone is well... ![]() |

First of all, welcome back to GP!
![]() I'm extremely sorry to hear that you lost your boy, Harley. It's so difficult to lose a loving member of the family. I do really hope that the new boxer pup works out for you. Boxers are a great breed and are such fun to have around. I hope Dozer isn't feeling too down about not having his brother around anymore, but at least he'll have some company with your future pup. |

Welcome back, and I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your sweet boy! It's never an easy thing to have happen, but, as you said, that's a chance we all take, but so worth it for the love they give us, and we give them.
I'll keep Oliver in my prayers that he finds his way home! Good luck with the Boxer puppy...hope it all works out for you! Take care, and good to see you back! ![]() Sherilyn |

Welcome back! I remember you
I'm so very sorry to hear about Harley. You made the right decision. It's the hardest part about owning animals is that they cannot stay with us forever. Good luck with the puppy! I hope we can see pictures if things work out! ![]() |

Welcome back to GP. I'm sorry you lost your boy, but after you stoped posting, I really had the feeling he must have passed. You were a fantastic mom to him and I know he will take you with him in his heart.
A new life begins, and if you do bring that baby home, I hope someone gives you a beautiful puppy shower. We here want to see tons of pictures of each stage of growing up. ![]() |

I'm so sorry for you loss, it's never an easy decision to have to make but you made the right one to free Harley of his suffering. It looks like Harley sent you a little angel to help ease some of the pain. Have you picked out a name for this new little guy? Can't wait to see the pics, I love boxers.
