Hi everyone!
Hi! Thought I should introduce myself and my babies.
I've got a seven year old neutered Golden Retriever named Duke. Duke is the most gentle doggie in the world, when he looks where he's going. lol. I've had him since he was8 weeks old and he was neutered at 6 months. I'm also the mommy of a six and a half year old neutered rat terrier who i have had since he was 8 weeks old. He's got the personality of a grumpy old man, but still very lovable. He gets these looks of disgust, should have seen him when we brought home our newest addition last week. Yep, my third baby has been a member of the family for nine days now. She's a twelve week old miniature pinscher and she's awesome! She's sooo incredibly smart and funny. I'm hoping to show her and become involved with the AKC events in our area. All of our pups have just been wonderful members of the family right from the get go. A little about me, I'm married with two beautiful daughters (14 and 8). I work a few hours a week online and take care of my house and family the rest of the time. I convinced my husband last fall that i NEEDED a miniature pinscher puppy and he agreed I could get one after the holidays. It sounds like so much fun and so rewarding to be involved with the AKC shows. I've read more than my brain can take in. I only found this site recently and have done a TON of reading and learning from all of the experienced members here. I look forward to getting to know everyone better. ![]() |

I was thinking conformation and more possibly obedience. I don't want to get her ears done and i've been told she'll be disqualified in conformation if her ears don't stand up... and i've been told she won't be.
On the AKC site it says "Ears set high, standing erect from base to tip. May be cropped or uncropped." But, it doesn't say anything about ears under disqualifications. They're just so flip-floppy right now, i can imagine them ever standing on their own. lol. |

Welcome to GP! Try UKC if you are not use to showing. I know that there are alot of AKC people on this list but I do love UKC. It is friendlier and more family oriented than AKC. I have been showing UKC for 15 years but think that I am going AKC this year in a limited way. The breeder of my newest baby wants her shown AKC so we will give it a try. Probably cause alot of laughs there.
