New =)

Well, some of you have already seen my other post lol but yes, I am new =).

I am getting my -1st- puppy somewhere between July 17th and the 21st. I met the breeders probably about 2 years ago. My mom works with with the wife, they are like best friends. I've grown especially attached to the father (of my puppy) 'Tahoe'. I first saw him the day after they got him (also the first time I met my moms best friend and her husband). Then about a month later, they brought home the female 'Sierra'. I basically have grown up with these people and their dogs for the past two years. I've grown especially close to Tahoe, since my mother and my father let me keep him when Sierra was in heat, but she was too young to breed. I even had the nerve to ask Helen (my moms best friend/wife/breeder whatever) if she could keep my puppy and I could have Tahoe lol.

Okay, anyway. I've been waiting to bring home a puppy since I was 3. I've begged, cried, screamed, whined, threw temper tantrums but that didn't work so Thank god for Helen! She didn't give my mother an option, she basically told her I was getting a puppy lol. I plan on naming him Diesel. No, not after the actor, but after the neighbors truck lol. But thats a whole different story.

So now you are probably thinking about why I was saying 'mother' and 'father'. Well, I live at home with my parents because uhm well I'm 13. lol. I know that some of you (not sure) are in your 20s..30s..maybe 40s? I'm not really sure about age, but I don't really care either. I'm just an animal obsessed teenager with absolutely no life ouside of the animal world.

I'll try to make this the last paragraph since everybody is probably sick about hearing about me lol. I currently have a rabbit, Oreo, and a gerbil, Snickers. I've had one other gerbil 'Squeaker' that I had from December 27th '97 through September '02. I was pretty heart broken since he was my first fuzzy critter. All I had before that was fish. I took a lot of pictures of Squeaker (I'm a photo fanatic) and cry just about everytime I look at one.

Oh yes, I love animal planet but usually cry when I watch it since ½ the shows show something appauling like puppy mills, neglect cases or just saddening things such as car-accident victims being put to sleep.

I -love- the neighbor dog 'Stewart' who is also a Golden Retriever, a large one at that, probably weighing about 90 pounds. I've grown up with Stewart for the past 4 years since he was a puppy, but unfortunatly hes moving away this week. Great dog, very well behaved and playful. I cry everytime I think about it, so I'm glad I'm getting my puppy soon. I also used to love making Stewart treats. I like www.thepoop.com/pooppantry/ for recipies since theres a bunch to choose from. They are submitted by people that tried them out on their dogs, so they are already flavor approved, but I usually check the ingredients just incase.

So I thought I'd be nice and give a little brief one sentance and six paragraph summery for you guys lol, so much for that 'I'll try to make this the last paragraph'. Anyway, my name is Nicole and I'm from Ohio, where theres oodles of wildlife due to the acres of trees and non-built-on land heh. I love all animals. From dogs and cats to wolves, bears, sharks, snakes, pumas, you name it. However I'm not very fond of bugs I tend to kill them often

Okay, so maybe its more like a seven paragraph summary but whatever lol. I'm sorry for making you read all of that. If anyone ever needs advice on rabbits or gerbils just PM me lol. =)

Welcome! You're after my own heart. I try and try to make my posts short, but most often they turn out to be novels.

Also, you sound like me when I was a teenager...animal obsessed. Even from the age of 5 where I use to steal people's dogs and bring them home and my Mom would have to find out who they belonged to. As a teenager and all through my adult stage I've had horses. When others at school would skip out and go do something naughty, I was an angel and skipped out and went and rode my horse. LOL. I spent so much time on that horse....I never outgrew my love of horses. And I've enjoyed training dogs for some 40 years now.

So, I think you'll like it here and we look forward to hearing more about your pup.

Carrie
